The Miami Heat will be hoping to stave off elimination against the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 4 at the American Airlines Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Milwaukee Bucks will be looking to complete the sweep in this one after dominating the Heat in a 113-84 road win in Game 3 on Thursday. Khris Middleton led the team in scoring with 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Jrue Holiday added 19 points with 12 assists while Giannis Antetokounmpo chipped in with 17 points, 17 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Bucks shot 48 percent from the field and 13 of 36 from the 3-point line, but it was really their effort on defense that set up the win as they never looked threated after holding the Heat to just 14 points in the first quarter to take the early double-digit lead. It wasn’t until the third quarter where the Bucks really ran riot with 37 points to push the lead out to 32 points.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat are suddenly playing for their season as they’re down 3-0 in the series after a second straight blowout loss. Jimmy Butler led the team in scoring with 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Bam Adebayo added 17 points with eight rebounds and four assists while Nemanja Bjelica chipped in with 14 points off the bench, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Heat shot just 37 percent from the field and nine of 32 from the 3-point line as they came out tentative on the offensive end and quickly found themselves in deep trouble against a confident defense. Goran Dragic had a night to forget as he scored just eight points on three of 14 shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Heat are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight home games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven Conference Quarterfinals games and 6-2 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the under is 21-7-1 in the last 29 meetings in Miami and the Bucks are 3-8 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Miami.
I expect the Heat to come out firing in this one as they’re playing to avoid the sweep, but they just haven’t shown me anything over the past two games to suggest they can hang with the Bucks who are only growing in confidence with each win. The Bucks haven’t had to rely on any one player to carry them and it’s because they haven’t needed it. The momentum is completely with the Bucks and I think they complete the sweep in this one.
