The Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics meet Friday in game three of the NBA East Playoffs at the TD Garden.
The Brooklyn Nets look for another victory to take an overwhelming 3-0 series lead. The Brooklyn Nets are averaging 117 points on 47.1 percent shooting and allowing 100.5 points on 39.8 percent shooting. Kevin Durant is averaging 29 points and three assists while Kyrie Irving is averaging 22 points and six rebounds. James Harden is the third double-digit scorer and Joe Harris is dishing 1.5 assists. The Brooklyn Nets are shooting 34.7 percent from beyond the arc and 92.2 percent from the free throw line. The Brooklyn Nets are allowing 35.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 48 rebounds per game.
The Boston Celtics need a win here to have any chance of getting back in this series. The Boston Celtics are averaging 100.5 points on 39.8 percent shooting and allowing 117 points on 47.1 percent shooting. Marcus Smart is averaging 18 points and three rebounds while Kemba Walker is averaging 16 points and 4.5 assists. Jayson Tatum is the third double-digit scorer and Evan Fournier is grabbing 3.5 rebounds. The Boston Celtics are shooting 35.9 percent from beyond the arc and 77.6 percent from the free throw line. The Boston Celtics are allowing 34.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 41.5 rebounds per game.
The Nets are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 games as a favorite and 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Celtics are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 playoff games as an underdog and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The under is 4-1 in Nets last 5 road games. The under is 4-1 in Celtics last 5 overall. The Nets are 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings.
If there was ever a game the Boston Celtics could win in this series, it would be this one at home, down 0-2. The issue is the Celtics have shown very little to convince you they can hang in this series, as the lack of consistent offense is a major concern going up against a Nets team with three of the best offensive players on the planet. The Brooklyn Nets comfortably won game two and they still haven't played to their full ability yet. I'm not all that confident the Celtics can do anything to scare the Nets. Give me the Nets and the reasonable chalk.
