We are heading into the final stretch of the NBA regular season and will have 8 games to choose from on Sunday May 9th, 2021. Check out our best bets for Sunday’s basketball action, as well as the updated betting odds.
Miami Heat Boston Celtics Total:
Miami has won 4 of their last 5 games, and two straight on the road. The Celtics have been slipping down the conference standings since the break and have not been playing much defense. They will be without arguably their best defender Jaylen Brown in this one. Back Miami against a fading Boston squad.
Pick: Miami Heat ATS
New York Knicks Los Angeles Clippers Total:
New York is 2-2 on their current road trip, losing the last two games. The Clippers won the first game between these two in Los Angeles, 129-115. The Knicks have struggled against teams above .500 and will face a rested Clippers team that has won 9 of their last 10 at home. Give me the Clippers to win and cover.
Pick: Los Angeles Clippers ATS
New Orleans Pelicans Charlotte Hornets Total:
The Pelicans will be without Zion Williamson and others in this one, with 5 players listed on the injury report. It will be the same for the Hornets, who will be without Gordan Heyward and 4 others on Sunday. However, the Hornets have won 2 of their last 3 since LaMelo Ball returned to the lineup, and the Pelicans have struggled on the road with a 12-20 record this season.
Pick: Charlotte Hornets ATS
Dallas Mavericks Cleveland Cavaliers Total:
Both teams are heading in different directions; the Mavericks are 8-2 over their last 10 with a +8 scoring differential, while the Cavaliers are 1-9 with a -13.8. Dallas has a 60% win-rate on the road and won by 20 in Dallas when these two played Friday night. Luka Doncic has been playing like an MVP all year and is nearly averaging a triple double with 27 points per over game his last 10.
Pick: Dallas Mavericks ATS
Minnesota Timberwolves Orlando Magic Total:
The over has cashed in each of the last four for the Timberwolves and for the Magic. Minnesota and Orlando are each just one game removed from allowing over 130 points in regulation to their opponents and are allowing over 115 per to their opponents over the last ten games. Without much to play for heading into the final two weeks, I do not expect much defense from these two teams.
Pick: Over
Chicago Bulls Detroit Pistons Total:
The Bull have won two in a row by over 20 pints since welcoming back Zach Lavine. The Pistons have lost 4 of their last 5 and remain injured with 5 players listed on their report. The Bulls are looking like the team they were earlier in the year and will do enough to cover against a bad Pistons team.
Pick: Chicago Bulls ATS
Phoenix Suns Los Angeles Lakers Total:
The Lakers Anthony Davis has not looked the same since returning from injury but bounced back for 36 points and 12 rebounds against the Trailblazers last time out. Los Angeles has covered in 2 of their last 3 games. The Suns were blown out by the Hawks in their last road game and needed OT to beat Cleveland in their previous trip. Trust Los Angeles to keep this close.
Pick: Los Angeles Lakers ATS
Oklahoma City Thunder Sacramento Kings Total:
The Thunder are fading, having lost 9 of 10 overall and will be without Gilgeous-Alexander and potentially Luguentz Dort in this one. The Kings have won 4 of 5 and have limited 3 of those opponents to less than 100 points. The Thunder rank 28th in the NBA with 105.2 points per game.
Pick: Sacramento Kings ATS
