It’s a full slate of games across the NBA on Friday with ten games taking place. Let’s breakdown and give away a free play on each of the games.
New Orleans Pelicans +8.5 at Philadelphia 76ers Total: 228.5
The Philadelphia 76ers are 6-4 over their last ten games, but they are laying way too many points in this game. The Pelicans have won three of their last four games including their last game against the Warriors where they gave up only 103 points. The Pelicans defense is going to slow down the 76ers offense and that will be the difference in this game as the Pelicans cover this spread.
Play> Pelicans +8.5
Boston Celtics at Chicago Bulls
The Boston Celtics are banged up with Jaylen Brown not expected to play in this game. Even without Brown in the last game, the Celtics were able to beat the Orlando Magic 132-96. The Chicago Bulls play with the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday night and their tired legs are going to hurt them in this game. Look for the Celtics defense to lock down and that will be the difference as Boston covers the spread in this game.
Play: Celtics ATS
Minnesota Timberwolves at Miami Heat
The Minnesota Timberwolves are really scoring, but their defense is an issue. Each of the Wolves last three games have gone over 240 points. In the last game against the Memphis Grizzlies the Timberwolves lost 139-135. In this game the Timberwolves are going to push the pace and that is going ot lead to plenty of scoring by both teams. Back the over to cash with ease.
Play: Over
Orlando Magic +9 at Charlotte Hornets Total: 216
The Orlando Magic don’t mind playing a slow pace and in the last game against the Celtics the offense could only manage 96 points. The Hornets have a game against the Bulls on Thursday but in their previous two games there were only 201 points scored. I expect with tired legs by the Hornets, and the Magic liking to play slow, the under is going to cash with ease.
Play: Under 216
Houston Rockets at Milwaukee Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks are an elite offensive team and each of their last two games they have scored at least 124 points. In the last game against the Washington Wizards the Bucks were able to win 135-134. The Rockets aren’t actually elite with their offense but with the pace of this play there is going to be plenty of scoring by both teams. This game is going to go well over the total. Back the over.
Play: Over
Cleveland Cavaliers at Dallas Mavericks
The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off another terrible loss in their last game against the Portland Trail Blazers. The defense gave up 141 points and that was the difference as they were defeated 36 points. Even on the second night of a back to back, the Mavericks are going to have no issue coming away with a blowout victory. Back the Mavericks to win this game and cover the spread.
Play: Mavericks ATS
Denver Nuggets at Utah Jazz
The Denver Nuggets have been involved in lower scoring games as of late. Two games ago against the Lakers they lost 93-69 and in the last game against the Knicks they won 113-97. The Utah Jazz only allowed 94 points in the last game and the pace of this game is going to really slow down. Look for both teams to play good defense and the under will have no issue cashing.
Play: Under
New York Knicks at Phoenix Suns
Just when the New York Knicks look like they can be trusted they really start to struggle. In the last game against the Denver Nuggets, the Knicks only scored 97 points and their lack of scoring is going to be the difference against a very good Phoenix Suns defense. Back the Suns to win this game and cover the spread.
Play: Suns ATS
Los Angeles Lakers at Portland Trail Blazers
The Lakers don’t have LeBron James and this is a team that has really hurt their playoff seeding the last couple of months. For Portland, their offense has been elite and in the last game against the Cleveland Cavaliers they won 141-105. The Trail Blazers are going to have no issue running up the score against the Lakers and that will be the difference as they cover this spread. Back Portland against the spread.
Play: Trail Blazers ATS
San Antonio Spurs at Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings are banged up right now without De’Aaron Fox and Harrison Barnes and without them, they have been inconsistent. The Kings have won three of their last four games and the only loss was a shocking one against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Kings defense has been the difference and each of the two wins they have allowed less than 100 points. The Spurs are going to struggle to score again in this game and that will lead to the Kings covering the spread.
Play: Kings ATS
