The first day of May offers ten NBA games and there are solid picks for every game. Let’s give a little breakdown on each of the games, look at the odds for those games, and also offer a free pick on each of them.
Detroit Pistons at Charlotte Hornets
The Detroit Pistons have not been an elite offensive team this year and especially as of late and that is going to continue to be the case in this game. Over the last two games the Pistons are only averaging 102.5 points per game. For the Hornets, LaMelo Ball is questionable for this game, but even if he goes, it’s hard to imagine he will play that many minutes. The Hornets offense is going to struggle and the under will cash.
Play: Under
Golden State Warriors at Houston Rockets
The Warriors were playing a little better, but they have dropped off again as of late losing two games in a row. Each of the last two games the Warriors defense has really struggled including two games ago where they gave up 133 points to the Dallas Mavericks. In the Rockets last game against the Milwaukee BUcks they scored 143 points. The Rockets will score enough points to cover the spread.
Pick: Rockets ATS
Chicago Bulls at Atlanta Hawks
The Bulls have a game on Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks and their best player, Zach LaVine is still in the COVID protocol. The Bulls bench is also short, and that is going to really hurt them in this game. Trae Young is back for the Hawks, and the Hawks are going to use that to their advantage. Back the Hawks.
Pick: Hawks ATS
Miami Heat at Cleveland Cavaliers
This isn’t the same Miami Heat team as last season, but they are coming off a big win in their last game against the San Antonio Spurs. The Cleveland Cavaliers offense is still an issue and two games ago against the Raptors they only scored 96 points. The lack of scoring by the Cavaliers is going to let them down against the Miami Heat. Back the Heat against the spread.
Pick: Heat ATS
Memphis Grizzlies at Orlando Magic
The Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic face off on Friday night and then they will play again on Saturday. I expect with tired legs both teams are going to keep the pace slow, and the under will cash. Back the under.
Pick: Under
New Orleans Pelicans at Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves have won four games in a row and they have proven that when healthy they are a team that can compete. In the last game against the Warriors the offense was strong scoring 126 points and that was the difference. Ricky Rubio led the team in scoring in the last game putting up 26 points. The WOlves offense will be too much again as they cover the spread.
Pick: Wolves ATS
Indiana Pacers at Oklahoma City Thunder
The Pacers defense has been an issue as of late and it has to be a concern coming into this game. Two games ago against the Trail Blazers they gave up 133 points, and in the last game against the Nets they gave up 130 points. The Thunder’s offense isn’t elite, but they will do enough to cover thie spread. Back the Thunder ATS.
Pick: Thunder ATS
Washington Wizards at Dallas Mavericks
The Mavericks are a good offensive team, but they can slow down the pace against a good offensive team. The Wizards are also playing on the second night of a back to back and they will slow down the pace in this game. Back the under.
Pick: Under
Toronto Raptors at Utah Jazz
The Raptors defense is an issue and even with the Jazz playing on the second night of a back to back, Utah will have no issue running up the score in this game. This sam Jazz team scored 154 points a few games ago and they will have no issue getting the job done in this game. This game is going to become a blowout early and the Jazz will cover this spread.
Pick: Jazz ATS
Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers are dealing with injuries, and that has led to them having issues winning games. The Clippers have lost back to back games against the Pelicans and Suns. The Nuggets are hot winning four games in a row. Michael Porter Jr has played well and he is going tobe the difference as the Nuggets come away with a cover of the spread. Back the Nuggets to cover the spread.
Pick: Nuggets ATS
