We have six NBA games on the card for Tuesday, April 27, 2021, which includes two national televised games and several teams jockeying for playoff position. Here are our free picks for every NBA game on the board as well as the betting odds.
Oklahoma City Thunder at Boston Celtics (-13.5) - O/U - 219.5
The Oklahoma City Thunder are on the end of a back to back and entered last night losing their last five games by an average of 10 points while shooting 43.4 percent from the field. The Boston Celtics aren’t the most trustworthy team in the world, but they are 2-0 against the spread as a double-digit underdog and 16-13-1 against the spread at home. The Celtics also need a win to stay above that seventh seed in the East. Big number, but it’s Celtics or pass.
Pick: Celtics -13.5
Milwaukee Bucks (-8.5) at Charlotte Hornets - O/U - 220
The Milwaukee Bucks are the better team obviously, but they've still been hit or miss lately and are winning their last five games by an average of 4.8 points despite shooting 49 percent from the field. The Charlotte Hornets are keeping their head afloat despite the losses, and they're winning their last five games by an average of 1.2 points. The Bucks are 12-18 against the spread on the road while the Hornets are 16-11-1 against the spread at home. This feels like too many points. Give me the Hornets.
Pick: Hornets +8.5
Portland Trail Blazers (-4) at Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers are banged up as all hell and aren’t a team I’m thrilled about backing. However, the Portland Trail Blazers are looking like one of the more disappointing teams in the league, losing five straight and losing by an average of 3.8 points on 42.9 percent shooting in those games. It’s hard to back the Trail Blazers regardless of the line or who they’re playing. For me, it’s Pacers or pass.
Pick: Indiana Pacers +4
Brooklyn Nets (-6.5) at Toronto Raptors
The Brooklyn Nets still aren’t 100 percent healthy, but they’re still finding ways to win and cover games, and they win by an average of 6.1 points in the favorite role. The Toronto Raptors are coming off a solid week, but we’ve seen the ups and downs from this club all season long and they’re 26-34 against the spread on the year. I’m not buying stock into the Raptors just yet. I’d lean Nets here, obviously depending what the line is.
Pick: Brooklyn Nets -6.5
Minnesota Timberwolves (-2) at Houston Rockets
The Minnesota Timberwolves are quietly playing their best ball of the season where they’re a lot more competitive, and they’re actually winning their last five games by an average of one point while shooting 49.1 percent from the field. The Houston Rockets just shutdown John Wall for the remainder of the season, and they’re losing their last five games by an average of 11.8 points on 42.8 percent shooting. I want nothing to do with the Rockets and you shouldn’t either. Give me the Timberwolves.
Pick: Minnesota Timberwolves -2
Dallas Mavericks (-1) at Golden State Warriors
The Dallas Mavericks have run hot and cold all season long and right now they’re the most banged up team in the league with several of their players dealing with something. The Golden State Warriors are playing some of their best ball of the season, which includes winning their last five games by an average of 5.4 points. The Warriors need to keep winning if they’re going to sneak into the play-in games. I like the Warriors at home here.
Pick: Warriors +1
