The Memphis Grizzlies pay a visit to the Atlanta Hawks at the State Farm Arena on Wednesday night.
The Memphis Grizzlies have really started to heat up lately as they’ve won seven of their past 10 games and they will be aiming for fourth straight win after taking down the Heat in a 124-112 road win last night. Dillon Brooks led the team in scoring with 28 points on 10 of 16 shooting, Jonas Valanciunas added 20 points with 10 rebounds on seven of nine shooting while Kyle Anderson chipped in with 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Grizzlies shot a healthy 54 percent from the field and 17 of 41 from the 3-point line as they got off to an early lead with 37 points in the first quarter, before using a pivotal 13-2 run early in the fourth quarter to run away with it and win comfortably in the end.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have been in great form as they’ve won 13 of their past 17 games and they will be looking to build on their current four-game win streak after routing the Pelicans in a 123-107 home win last night. Trae Young led the team with 30 points and 12 assists, Bogdan Bogdanovic added 21 points on eight of 11 shooting, Kevin Huerter added 17 points while Danilo Gallinari chipped in with 14 points off the bench. As a team, the Hawks shot 50 percent from the field and a sizzling 20 of 31 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Pelicans in the first half, before doing all their damage in the third quarter where they connected on a barrage of 3-pointers to finish with 46 points for the quarter.
Looking at the betting trends, the Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest. The Hawks are 6-0 ATS in their last six home games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings overall and the under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Atlanta.
The Grizzlies are coming into this one with plenty of momentum, but they will be shorthanded in this one as Brandon Clarke could be out again with that calf injury, while Ja Morant is likely out with a back injury. The Hawks have some injury concerns of their own as John Collins has missed some time, but they will be full of confidence after last night’s impressive long range shooting display. This game is tough to pick, but with Morant likely out of this one, I’m leaning towards the Hawks to stay hot with another win and cover in this one.
