The Utah Jazz travel to the United Center to take on the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.
The Utah Jazz have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last six games and they will be looking to build some momentum after outlasting the Raptors in a 115-112 road win on Friday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 31 points and six assists, Joe Ingles added 19 points with six assists off the bench while Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley each scored 15 points. As a team, the Jazz shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 37 from the 3-point line, but in a tight contest, it was the Jazz’s aggressiveness that was the difference as they outscored the Raptors at the free throw line by 35-11 while outrebounding them by 56-36.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been in decent form as they’ve split their last eight games and they will be looking to build on that after blowing past the Pistons in a 100-86 road win last night. Zach LaVine led the team with 18 points on six of 16 shooting, Lauri Markkanen added 16 points with eight rebounds while Patrick Williams chipped in with 10 points but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Bulls shot 46 percent from the field and 14 of 28 from the 3-point line, but this win was about their defense as they held the Pistons to just four of 25 from the 3-point line.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Bulls are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games, 1-7 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and 0-7 ATS in their last seven home games against a team with a winning road record.
Head to head, the under is 7-1 in the last eight meetings in Chicago and the under is 18-7-1 in the last 26 meetings overall.
The Jazz have cooled off a bit lately and they were far from convincing in their narrow win over the slumping Raptors on Friday, while the Bulls have been in similar form and are coming into this one fresh off an easy win over the Pistons. If the Bulls defend like they did last night, they might just pull off the upset here, but I think the smarter play is on the well-rested Jazz to pull away for the win and cover here.
