The Atlanta Hawks play host to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the State Farm Arena on Thursday night.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in decent form lately as they’ve won three of their past five games, but they will be looking to bounce back here after getting routed by the Bulls in a 123-102 road loss on Tuesday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 21 points on 10 of 17 shooting, Moses Brown added 20 points with 16 rebounds and five blocks while Kenrich Williams chipped in with 14 points on six of nine shooting. As a team, the Thunder shot 46 percent from the field and seven of 20 from the 3-point line as they allowed the Bulls to pour on 42 points in the first quarter, before falling behind by as many as 27 points in the third quarter where they scored just 16 points.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have caught fire lately as they’re currently riding a season-high six-game win streak after blowing past the depleted Rockets in a 119-107 road loss on Tuesday. Danilo Gallinari led the team in scoring with 29 points on 10 of 14 shooting, John Collins added 20 points with 10 rebounds and four blocks, Kevin Huerter scored 16 points while Trae Young chipped in with 13 points and 14 assists. As a team, the Hawks shot 51 percent from the field and 17 of 37 from the 3-point line as they saw their 23-point lead reduced to just one point, before pulling away in the fourth quarter where they held the Rockets to just 15 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Thunder are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games following a loss of more than 10 points and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss. The Hawks are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the over is 7-0 in the last seven meetings overall, the Thunder are 23-9 ATS in the last 32 meetings overall and the Thunder are 15-5 ATS in the last 20 meetings in Atlanta.
The Thunder have been in decent shape lately, but they looked poor against the Bulls on Tuesday and are now up against a Hawks team playing some of their best basketball of the season. The Thunder should be able to hang around for most of the game, but the Hawks are just red-hot at the moment and they should be good enough to get the win and cover at home.
