The Sacramento Kings and the Washington Wizards duke it out at the Capital One Arena on Wednesday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in a slump as they’ve lost 13 of their last 16 games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting stopped by the Hornets in a 122-116 road loss on Monday. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 29 points with eight assists, Buddy Hield added 23 points while Richaun Holmes chipped in with 17 points, 15 rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Kings shot 55 percent from the field and nine of 31 from the 3-point line as they came out hot with 67 points in the first half to lead by as many as 15 points, before getting run down in the fourth quarter where they managed just 20 points. All five starters finished in double figures in scoring, but no bench player scored more than nine points.
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have been in a real funk lately as they’ve lost six of their past seven games and they will be hoping to snap a four-game losing streak after falling to the Bucks in a 133-122 home loss on Monday. Bradley Beal led the team with 37 points, six rebounds and five assists, Russell Westbrook added 23 points with 17 assists while Rui Hachimura chipped in with 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Wizards shot 50 percent from the field and 16 of 38 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and were always fighting an uphill battle after falling behind by 14 points going into halftime as they just couldn’t slow down the Bucks who shot 55 percent from the field.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Wizards are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team below .400, 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a double-digit loss at home and 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall and the Kings are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings in Washington.
The Kings have come to life over their last six games or so, but they will be hoping to bounce back after a tough loss to the Hornets in their last outing. The Wizards have really cooled off lately and their confidence must have taken a hit after consecutive losses to the Bucks and they are only 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games overall. You could make an argument for either team here, but the Kings are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings in Washington and I think that trend continues here as the Wizards snap out of their funk with a win here.
