The Cleveland Cavaliers travel to the American Airlines Arena to take on the Miami Heat on Tuesday night.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in poor form lately as they’ve lost 13 of their past 17 games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after getting routed by the Hawks in a 100-82 road loss on Sunday. Collin Sexton led the team with 15 points on five of 17 shooting, Darius Garland added 11 points with seven assists while Cedi Osman and JaVale McGee each scored 10 points, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 38 percent from the field and eight of 30 from the 3-point line as they scrapped to hang with the Hawks in a low-scoring game, until the fourth quarter where they were outscored by 31-16.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been on a tear lately as they’ve won 10 of their past 11 games and they will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after sneaking past the Magic in a 102-97 road win on Sunday. Jimmy Butler continued his hot form with 29 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and five steals, Tyler Herro added 22 points off the bench while Kelly Olynyk chipped in with 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Heat shot 41 percent from the field and 14 of 50 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble after squandered a 13-point lead, before rallying behind their defense in the fourth quarter where they held the Magic to just 20 points to escape with the hard-fought win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Cavaliers are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 road games, 1-8 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record and 5-15 ATS in their last 20 games overall. The Heat are 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 home games, 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team below .400 and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Cavaliers are 1-10 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Miami and the Cavaliers are 2-8 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.
The Cavaliers haven’t been able to build any momentum for a while now and they’re coming off a bad loss to the Hawks where they scored just 82 points, while the Heat have been in terrific form lately as they continue to have players returning to the court. The Cavaliers are just 1-10 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Miami and I think that trend continues as the Heat should be too good here.
