The Detroit Pistons pay a visit to the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center on Saturday night.
The Detroit Pistons have been in a real slump as they’ve lost eight of their past 10 games and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after falling to the Hornets in a 105-102 road loss on Thursday. Jerami Grant led the team with 32 points, eight rebounds and four assists, Saddiq Bey added 14 points while Svi Mykhailiuk chipped in with 11 points and eight assists, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Pistons shot 44 percent from the field and 15 of 46 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to rally all the way back from a 16-point deficit, only to fall just short as the Hornets’ Terry Rozier came up big in the clutch.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in terrific shape as they’ve won 11 of their past 12 games and they will be gunning for a fourth straight win after blowing past the Celtics in a 121-109 home win on Thursday. Kyrie Irving led the team with 40 points on 15 of 23 shooting, James Harden racked up 22 points with 10 rebounds and eight assists while Landry Shamet drained six 3-pointers to chip in with 18 points off the bench. As a team, the Nets shot 47 percent from the field and 19 of 42 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going and fell behind by 11 points early on, before running away with it in the fourth quarter where they finished in a flurry to finish with the impressive win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team above .600 and 4-1 ATS in their last five games as a road underdog. The Nets are 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 11-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 16-6 in the last 22 meetings in Brooklyn, the Pistons are 3-8 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Brooklyn and the Pistons are 7-15 ATS in the last 22 meetings overall.
The Pistons have really been struggling lately and they will be so disappointed after dropping a winnable game against the Hornets on Thursday, while the Nets are coming into this one with plenty of momentum with 11 wins in their last 12 games. The Pistons are only 3-8 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Brooklyn and I think that trend continues here as the Nets should be way too good in this one.
