The Milwaukee Bucks invade the FedExForum to do battle with the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in good shape lately as they were riding a five-game win streak before getting stopped in their tracks by the Nuggets in a 128-97 home loss on Tuesday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 27 points on 10 of 15 shooting, Khris Middleton added 20 points with six assists while Brook Lopez chipped in with 12 points, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Bucks shot 40 percent from the field and 11 of 40 from the 3-point line as they never looked to be in the contest in this one after falling behind by 16 points in the first quarter, before getting blown out in the fourth quarter where they managed just 17 points.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been in decent form lately as they’ve won three of their past four games and they will be gunning for a third straight victory after blowing past the Wizards in a 125-111 road win on Tuesday. Ja Morant led the team with 35 points and 10 assists, Dillon Brooks and De’Anthony Melton each scored 20 points while Brandon Clarke chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 49 percent from the field and 13 of 29 from the 3-point line, but this win was about their defense as they held the Wizards to 23 points in the second quarter to open a double-digit lead, before pulling away in the third quarter where they led by as many as 23 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a loss and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a double-digit loss at home. The Grizzlies are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games as an underdog.
Head to head, the over is 5-2-1 in the last eight meetings overall.
The Bucks were playing some of their best basketball of the season before having their five-game win snapped by the Nuggets in a 31-point loss on Tuesday, while the Grizzlies are starting to heat up after blowing past the Wizards in their last outing. The Grizzlies do well against the lesser teams in the league, but the Bucks are a step above and they are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a double-digit home loss, so I like them to bounce back here.
