The Indiana Pacers pay a visit to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
The Indiana Pacers have been in a slump lately as they’ve lost five of their last six games and they will be hoping to avoid a fifth straight loss after getting routed by the 76ers in a 130-114 road loss on Monday. Malcolm Brogdon led the team with 20 points on nine of 17 shooting, Edmond Sumner scored 18 points while Domantas Sabonis chipped in with 15 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. As a team, the Pacers shot 48 percent from the field and eight of 29 from the 3-point line, but they fell behind by 17 points at halftime, before getting blown out in the third quarter where they fell behind by 31 points.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been in great form as they will be looking to build on their current four-game win streak after taking down the Rockets in a 101-90 road win on Monday. Collin Sexton led the team with 39 points and eight assists, Darius Garland added 14 points with seven assists while Jarrett Allen chipped in with 10 points and 15 rebounds. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 49 percent from the field and 10 of 30 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to take a narrow lead at halftime, before pulling away in the second half where they held the Rockets to just 40 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a loss of more than 10 points and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. The Cavaliers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games as an underdog and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Pacers are 23-9-2 ATS in the last 34 meetings overall and the Pacers are 12-4-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings in Cleveland.
The Pacers have really gone cold lately and they have to be low on confidence after getting routed by the 76ers on Monday, while the Cavaliers have come to life with four wins on the trot and just blew past the Rockets in their last outing. The Cavaliers certainly hold the edge in this matchup when you look at recent form, but the Pacers are 12-4-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings in Cleveland and I think they will finally snap out of their funk with a much-needed win here.
