The Brooklyn Nets pay a visit to the Atlanta Hawks at the State Farm Arena on Wednesday night.
The Brooklyn Nets have been in great form as they’ve won six of their past eight games and they will be gunning for a third straight win after taking down the Heat in a 98-85 home win on Monday. Kevin Durant led the team with 20 points, 13 rebounds and five assists, James Harden added 20 points with eight assists while Kyrie Irving chipped in with 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Nets shot just 40 percent from the field and 11 of 38 from the 3-point line, but this win was all about their defense as they managed just 15 points in the first quarter to trail for most of the game, until the fourth quarter where they held the Heat to just 14 points to make it look easy in the end.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have been in decent shape so far as they’ve won nine of their first 17 games and they will be looking to stay hot after last night’s 108-99 home win over the Clippers. Trae Young led team with 38 points and four assists, DeAndre Hunter added 22 points, Clint Capela racked up 13 points with 19 rebounds and two blocks while John Collins chipped in with 11 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks. As a team, the Hawks shot 45 percent from the field and 10 of 26 from the 3-point line as they struggled in the first half, before taking over in the second half where they poured in 65 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nets are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games against a team with a winning home record. The Hawks are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 games playing on zero days rest.
Head to head, the under is 14-6-1 in the last 21 meetings overall, the Nets are 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall and the Nets are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Atlanta.
The Hawks will be feeling pretty good after taking down the Clippers last night, but it’s hard to get too excited about beating a Clippers team missing two of their best players. The Nets are starting to heat up now and it was impressive to see them win with defense, rather than offense as we saw on Monday. The Nets are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Atlanta and I think that trend continues here as the Nets should be good enough to get the win and cover over the Hawks who are playing on zero days rest.
