The Los Angeles Clippers and the Atlanta Hawks duke it out at the State Farm Arena on Tuesday night.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been in great form this season as they’ve won 13 of their first 17 games and they will be looking to build on their current seven-game win streak after outlasting the Thunder in a 108-100 home win on Sunday. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 34 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, Serge Ibaka added 17 points on seven of eight shooting while Reggie Jackson chipped in with 14 points off the bench. As a team, the Clippers shot 44 percent from the field and 14 of 46 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 36 points in the first quarter to take an early 17-point lead before cruising the rest of the way as they never really looked threatened with the Thunder making just seven 3-pointers as a team.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have split their first 16 games of the season and they will be hoping to bounce back after having their three-game win streak halted by the Bucks in a 129-115 road loss on Sunday. DeAndre Hunter led the team with 33 points on 13 of 21 shooting, John Collins drained six 3-pointers to finish with 30 points on 12 of 19 shooting while Danilo Gallinari chipped in with 17 points off the bench but no other player finished in double figures. As a team, the Hawks shot 50 percent from the field and 14 of 39 from the 3-point line, but they were always fighting an uphill battle in this one after a slow start saw them trail by 32-15 at the end of the first quarter. Kevin Huerter scored just eight points on three of 11 shooting while Cameron Reddish scored just five points on one of eight shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 road games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a win and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Hawks are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team above .600 and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games following a loss of more than 10 points.
Head to head, the over is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall and the Clippers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Atlanta.
Patrick Beverley, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard have all been ruled out for the Clippers while the Hawks will be sweating on the availability of Trae Young who is listed as questionable due to back spasms. The Hawks would definitely be underdogs if both teams were at full strength, but with the Clippers heavily undermanned, I'm taking the Hawks to get the narrow win at home.
