The Boston Celtics invade the United Center to do battle with the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.
The Boston Celtics have been in decent form this season as they’ve won nine of their first 15 games and they will be looking to build some momentum after arresting a three-game skid with a 141-103 home win on Sunday. Jaylen Brown led the team with 33 points on 13 of 20 shooting in just 19 minutes of action, Kemba Walker added 21 points, while Daniel Theis chipped in with 17 points on four of six shooting. As a team, the Celtics shot a sizzling 55 percent from the field and 14 of 28 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running in this contest and never let up as they poured in 38 points in the first quarter and another 41 points in the third quarter as they made light work of the Cavaliers in this one.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been in a rut as they’ve lost five of their last eight games and because they had their last game postponed, they haven’t seen the court since their 101-90 loss to the Lakers on Saturday. Zach LaVine led the team with 21 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, Coby White added 14 points, Patrick Williams scored 13 points with eight rebounds while Lauri Markkanen chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Bulls shot 39 percent from the field and eight of 25 from the 3-point line, but they were sleepwalking out of the gates and quickly found themselves trailing by 30 points at halftime.
Looking at the betting trends, the Celtics are 6-0 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days rest and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games. The Bulls are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings in Chicago, the Celtics are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings in Chicago and the Celtics are 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.
The Bulls looked terrible in their loss to the Lakers as they managed just 90 points, while the Celtics looked great in their 38-point win over the Cavaliers last night. The Celtics are 6-0 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days rest and they are 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings overall. I expect a better effort from the Bulls after getting embarrassed in their last outing, but Jayson Tatum is expected to return for this one, so I'm taking the Celtics all the way.
