The Line: San Antonio Spurs +4.5 -- Over/Under: Click Here for the Latest Odds
The Dallas Mavericks pay a visit to the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center on Wednesday night.
The Dallas Mavericks have been in decent shape as they've won four of their last six games and they will be looking to stay hot after blowing past the Timberwolves in a 139-123 home win on Monday. Tim Hardaway Jr. led the team with 23 points on eight of 14 shooting, Luka Doncic added 20 points with nine rebounds and seven assists while Seth Curry drained five 3-pointers to chip in with 19 points. As a team, the Mavericks shot 50 percent from the field and 16 of 44 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with a season-high 81 points in the first half, before cruising in the second half as coach Carlisle opted to rest his starters early.
Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in a bit of a rut as they've lost six of their past eight games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting thrashed by the Thunder in a 131-103 road loss on Sunday. Rudy Gay led the team with 14 points off the bench, Marco Belinelli added 13 points while DeMar DeRozan chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 36 percent from the field and 11 of 38 from the 3-point line trailed by six points at halftime, before getting blown off the floor in the third quarter where the Thunder outscored them by 37-18 to put the game to bed early.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Mavericks are 10-4 ATS in the last 14 meetings overall and the Mavericks are 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings in San Antonio.
The Mavericks haven't been at their absolute best as they had to keep their heads above water with Doncic on the sidelines, but they've been building nicely and they are a 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings in San Antonio. The Spurs strung together a couple of wins before getting routed in their last outing and they will be without LaMarcus Aldridge for this one as he is dealing with right shoulder soreness. I expect a good fight from the Spurs, but in the end, I think the Mavericks will have too much for the Spurs in this one.
