The Houston Rockets play host to the Memphis Grizzlies at the Toyota Center on Wednesday night.
The Memphis Grizzlies were on a nice run before dropping their last three games, so they will be eager to bounce back after getting demolished by the Clippers in a 124-97 road loss on Monday. Ja Morant led the team with 16 points on seven of 13 shooting while Gorgui Dieng and Josh Jackson each scored 14 points, but no other player scored more than eight points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot just 41 percent from the field and seven of 27 from the 3-point line but this game was over before it really began as the Grizzlies were slow out of the gates and staring down the barrel of a 26-point deficit at the end of the first quarter. Dillon Brooks scored just four points on one of seven shooting while Jonas Valanciunas shot just five points on two of 10 shooting.
Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have been in great shape as they've won eight of their last 10 games and they will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after taking down the Knicks in a 123-112 home win on Monday. James Harden led the team from the front with 37 points, six rebounds and nine assists, Ben McLemore added 17 points off the bench while Eric Gordon chipped in with 16 points on four of 13 shooting. As a team, the Rockets shot 50 percent from the field and 16 of 48 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 72 points in a free-flowing first half, before easing off in the second half after building a 25-point lead.
Looking at the betting trends, the Grizzlies are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team above .600 and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a loss of more than 10 points. The Rockets are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a win and 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a win of more than 10 points.
Head to head, the under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall, the Grizzlies are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Houston and the Grizzlies are 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.
Jaren Jackson Jr. and Brandon Clarke are both out for at least the next two weeks, while Eric Gordon is currently considered questionable for the Rockets, so both teams will be shorthanded in this one. The Grizzlies are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings overall and they've certainly cooled off over their last three games. With that being said, I'm taking the Rockets to stay hot with a win and cover here.
