The Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers do battle at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Saturday night.
The Golden State Warriors have been in a world of hurt as they've lost 15 of their last 16 games and they will be hoping to snap a five-game skid after getting routed by the Celtics in a 119-104 road loss on Thursday. D'Angelo Russell led the team with 22 points with five assists, Alec Burks added 18 points while Glen Robinson and Damion Lee each scored 11 points. As a team, the Warriors shot just 42 percent from the field and 12 of 39 from the 3-point line as they were outscored by the Celtics in every quarter of the game to lead by as many as 19 points.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been in similar shape as they've lost 14 of their last 17 games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling just short against the Raptors in a 115-109 home loss on Thursday. Kevin Love and Collin Sexton each scored 23 points, Darius Garland added 16 points with eight assists while Larry Nance Jr. chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 46 percent from the field and 13 of 36 from the 3-point line as they cut a 14-point deficit to just one, before the Raptors pulled away late.
Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games against a team with a losing home record. The Cavaliers are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 17-7-1 ATS in their last 25 games against a team below .400.
Head to head, the Warriors are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Warriors are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Cleveland.
It's always tough picking games when both teams involved are struggling so much as you get to wondering if they're even trying to win. The Warriors have lost 15 of 16 and are coming off a bad loss to the Celtics, while the Cavaliers almost pulled off a memorable comeback in their narrow loss to the red-hot Raptors. This is a game I'd rather stay away from, but If I had to choose, I'd lean towards the Cavaliers who are 17-7-1 ATS in their last 25 games against a team below .400.
