The Brooklyn Nets play host to the Philadelphia 76ers at the Barclays Center on Monday afternoon.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been in great form as they’ve won five of their last seven games and they will be aiming for a fourth straight victory after sneaking past the Knicks in a 90-87 road win on Saturday. Ben Simmons led the team with 21 points, seven rebounds and eight assists, Josh Richardson added 18 points while Furkan Korkmaz chipped in with 17 points off the bench. As a team, the 76ers shot 43 percent from the field and 10 of 32 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 10-point lead, before rallying in the fourth quarter behind their defense as they held the Knicks to just four points in the final 3:37.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in a serious slump as they’ve lost 10 of their past 12 games and they will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat after getting routed by the Bucks in a 117-97 home loss on Saturday. Kyrie Irving led the team in scoring with just 17 points and six assists, Nicolas Claxton added 14 points while Taurean Prince chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Nets shot just 33 percent from the field and 15 of 49 from the 3-point lien as they fell behind by 15 points going into halftime, before getting blown out in the third quarter where they trailed by as many as 25 points. Kyrie Irving continues so struggle as he shot just six of 15 from the field while Spencer Dinwiddie shot just three of 12 for his 11 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 road games, 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Nets are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record, 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games and 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 9-4-1 in the last 14 meetings in Brooklyn and the 76ers are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall.
The 76ers haven’t been at their best lately as they’re clearly not as potent with the injured Joel Embiid and there was an element of luck in their narrow win over the Knicks on Saturday. The Nets have been a mess for a while now and the return of Irving hasn’t helped at all as Dinwiddie has been out of rhythm. The 76ers haven’t been the best road team to bet on, but they are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall and it just seems like they’re catching the Nets at just the right time.
