The Line: Oklahoma City Thunder -1 -- Over/Under: 215.5
The Toronto Raptors pay a visit to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Wednesday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last eight games, but they will be hoping to bounce back after falling painfully short to the Spurs in a 105-104 home loss on Sunday. Serge Ibaka led the team with 21 points and 14 rebounds, Norman Powell added 20 points, Kyle Lowry steered the offense with 16 points and 15 assists while Pascal Siakam chipped in with 15 points on six of 17 shooting. As a team, the Raptors shot just 40 percent from the field and 17 of 48 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in complete control with an 18-point lead in the third quarter, before the Spurs kicked off the fourth quarter with a 21-5 run to pull off their best comeback win of the season.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder have quietly been one of the hottest teams in the league as they’ve won 12 of their past 15 games and they will be looking to stay hot after routing the Timberwolves in a 117-104 road win on Monday. Danilo Gallinari led the team with 30 points on eight of 12 shooting, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander racked up a triple-double of 20 points with 20 rebounds and 10 assists while Steven Adams chipped in with 13 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Thunder shot 50 percent from the field and 12 of 30 from the 3-point line as they poured 63 points in the first half, before winning the game with their defense in the second half where they held the Timberwolves to just 44 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 road games against a team with a winning home record, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games playing on two days' rest and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Thunder are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a win, 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 21-8 ATS in their last 29 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 6-1-1 in the last eight meetings overall, the Raptors are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings overall and the Raptors are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Oklahoma City.
The Raptors haven't been at their best as they've been plagued with injuries, but they're starting to get some key players back on the court, so I'm looking at them to heat up again sooner rather than later. The Thunder have quietly been one of the hottest teams in the league and they were clinical in their win over the Timberwolves in their last outing. This one should be a close contest, but the Raptors are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Oklahoma City and I think that trend continues here as they pull off the minor upset.
