The Memphis Grizzlies play host to the Houston Rockets at the Fiserv Forum on Tuesday night.
The Houston Rockets have been on a nice run lately as they’ve won nine of their past 12 games and they will be looking to stay hot after blowing past the Timberwolves in a 139-109 home win on Saturday. James Harden led the team with 32 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, Russell Westbrook added 30 points with 10 assists while Clint Capela chipped in with 17 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks. As a team, the Rockets shot 51 percent from the field and 18 of 45 from the 3-point line as they took control of the game with 35 points in the second quarter, before putting the game out of reach with another 45 points in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been in great form themselves as they’ve won six of their last seven games and they be looking to build on their current five-game win streak after routing the Warriors in a 122-102 home win on Sunday. Jonas Valanciunas led the team with 31 points, 19 rebounds and two blocks, Jaren Jackson Jr. added 21 points while Ja Morant chipped in with 11 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 35 from the 3-point line as they pulled away from a tight contest in a 35-17 third quarter behind a big night from Valanciunas who shot 13 of 17 from the field.
Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a losing record, 0-4 ATS in their last four road games and 11-1 ATS in their last 12 games playing on two days rest. The Grizzlies are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 games following a win of more than 10 points and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the Rockets are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
The Rockets haven’t been the most consistent team, but they will be full of confidence after bouncing back from their upset loss to the Thunder with a 30-point demolition of the Timberwolves on Saturday. The Grizzlies have been quietly playing some of their best basketball of the season which have resulted in six wins in their last seven outings. I’m tempted to take the streaking Grizzlies at home, but I just can’t go past the Rockets who are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
