The Memphis Grizzlies and the Sacramento Kings duke it out at the Golden 1 Center on Thursday night.
The Memphis Grizzlies have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last six games and they will be looking to build a bit of momentum after blowing past the slumping Hornets in a 117-104 home loss on Sunday. Dillon Brooks led the team with 20 points on eight of 13 shooting, Brandon Clarke added 18 points with three blocks while Jonas Valanciunas chipped in with 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 48 percent from the field and 10 of 35 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates to lead by as many as 20 points, before trying out different lineups in the second half as none of the starters played more than 28 minutes.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in the worst slump of their season as they will be hoping to avoid a ninth straight defeat after getting routed by the Clippers in a 105-87 home loss on Tuesday. Richaun Holmes led the team with 22 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks and Buddy Hield added 20 points with six rebounds and five assists, but no other player finished in double figures. As a team, the King shot 41 percent from the field and eight of 28 from the 3-point line as they never looked threatening after getting outscored in the first half by 57-40. Defensively, they did a nice job of holding the Clippers to just 40 percent shooting, but they managed just 14 points in the fourth quarter which sums up their night.
Looking at the betting trends, the Grizzlies are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six road games, 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games overall. The Kings are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games following a loss, 0-7 ATS in their last seven home games and 1-7 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the under is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings in Sacramento and the Grizzlies are 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall.
The Kings are 0-7 ATS in their last seven home games and they’re coming here ice-cold as they’ve dropped eight straight, while the Grizzlies are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and they have the advantage of a couple days extra rest as they haven’t played since Sunday. The Grizzlies are 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall and I think that trend continues as I have them pulling off the minor upset here.
