The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Clippers do battle at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Friday night.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their seven games in the bubble and they will be looking to cap off the regular season on a high note after taking down the Heat in a thrilling 116-115 win on Wednesday. Darius Bazley led the team with 21 points, nine rebounds and four assists, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 18 points while Danilo Gallinari chipped in with 14 points on two of 10 shooting. As a team, the Thunder shot just 43 percent from the field and 16 of 42 from the 3-point line as they struggled for most of the game to trail by 22 points in the fourth quarter. However, that was where the game got flipped on its head as the Thunder outscored the Heat by 34-15 to steal the game in the final seconds.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been playing well as they’ve won three of their last four games and they will be looking to stay hot after blowing past the Nuggets in a 124-111 win on Wednesday. Paul George led the team in scoring with 27 points, Kawhi Leonard added 26 points on nine of 16 shooting while Ivica Zubac chipped in with 15 points and 12 rebounds. As a team, the Clippers shot a healthy 54 percent from the field and 14 of 37 from the 3-point line as they trailed by eight points at halftime, before dominating the second half where they outscored the Nuggets by 74-53 to make it a blowout.
Looking at the betting trends, the Thunder are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 41-19 ATS in their last 60 games as an underdog and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games playing on one days' rest. The Clippers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record, 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games as a favorite and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the under is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings in Los Angeles and the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall.
We probably won't see most of the star players in this game with so little at stake and I think we're going to see a lot of that in other games today. The Thunder have been in strong form lately and the second unit will be quietly confident after running down a 22-point fourth-quarter deficit against the Heat on Wednesday. The Clippers have been in better form, but that's mainly due to their star players in Leonard and George who will likely be rested here. You could make an argument for either side here, but I think the value is with the Thunder and the points in this one.
