The Milwaukee Bucks and the Washington Wizards duke it out at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Tuesday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their six games in the bubble and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting stopped by the Raptors in a 114-106 loss last night. Kyle Korver led the team with 19 points off the bench, Khris Middleton added 17 points, George Hill scored 14 points while Brook Lopez chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Bucks shot just 39 percent from the field and 14 of 43 from the 3-pointline as they fell behind by 14 points going into halftime, before making a final run in the fourth quarter that would fall short. Giannis Antetokounmpo did not feature last night and his status for Tuesday is unclear.
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have lost all six of their games in the bubble and they will be hoping for a better showing after getting routed by the Thunder in a 121-103 loss on Sunday. Jerome Robinson led the team in scoring with 19 points and six assists off the bench, Isaac Bonga added 14 points while Troy Brown Jr. chipped in with 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Wizards shot just 41 percent from the field and nine of 36 from the 3-point line as they never really threatened after a slow start had them trailing by 16 points going into halftime against a motivated Thunder team.
Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall.
I really expected the Bucks to come out firing and try to get a few wins with the playoffs just around the corner, especially because they were stumbling a bit before the season got suspended, but they’ve actually been one of the most underwhelming teams in the bubble so far. To be fair, at least the Bucks have been better than the Wizards who just can’t but a win in the bubble. The Bucks will likely be resting a bunch of players in this one, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the Wizards are in the contest here, but the Bucks need a win to get out of their funk and I think they found their ideal opponent.
