The Philadelphia 76ers and Washington Wizards meet Wednesday in NBA action at The Arena.
The Philadelphia 76ers look for a feel good victory after splitting their last 12 games. The Philadelphia 76ers are averaging 110.1 points on 46.6 percent shooting and allowing 108 points on 46.3 percent shooting. Joel Embiid is averaging 23.9 points and 12 rebounds while Tobias Harris is averaging 19.6 points and 6.8 rebounds. Ben Simmons is the third double-digit scorer and Josh Richardson is dishing three assists. The Philadelphia 76ers are shooting 36.3 percent from beyond the arc and 75.5 percent from the free throw line. The Philadelphia 76ers are allowing 35.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45.4 rebounds per game.
The Washington Wizards could use a win here after piling up a 0-3 record in the NBA bubble. The Washington Wizards are averaging 115.2 points on 46 percent shooting and allowing 119.6 points on 48.9 percent shooting. Rui Hachimura is averaging 13.3 points and 6.1 rebounds while Jordan McRae is averaging 12.8 points and 2.8 assists. Thomas Bryant is the third double-digit scorer and Shabazz Napier is dishing 4.2 assists. The Washington Wizards are shooting 37.1 percent from beyond the arc and 78.6 percent from the free throw line. The Washington Wizards are allowing 37.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 41.7 rebounds per game.
The 76ers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest. The Wizards are 0-6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The over is 8-0 in 76ers last 8 overall. The under is 5-2 in Wizards last 7 overall. The 76ers are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Washington.
The Philadelphia 76ers are obviously the better team here and should win in a beatdown, but we could say the same thing when they played the Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs. The 76ers lost to the Spurs outright and needed a last second bucket from their backup guard to beat the Spurs. The 76ers aren't playing good basketball and don't seem to give a damn about defense. I want nothing to do with the Washington Wizards as much as the next guy, but I'm not laying big chalk with the 76ers. Can't do it.
I'd side with the Wizards and the points if forced to pick this game.
