The Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics collide at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Wednesday.
The Brooklyn Nets have been in surprisingly good form since the season restart as they are coming into this game looking for a third straight victory after last night's 119-116 upset win over the Bucks. Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot led the team with 26 points, Garrett Temple added 19 points while Justin Anderson chipped in with 11 points off the bench. As a team, the Nets shot just 41 percent from the field, but they drained 21 of 57 from the 3-point line and were full of energy after pouring in 40 points in the first quarter. To be fair, the Bucks were only looking to share the minutes as all 13 players played at least 14 minutes, but it was still an impressive win for this makeshift lineup missing Caris LeVert and Joe Harris.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics are looking to bounce back in this one after falling just short to the Heat in a 112-106 loss last night. Jayson Tatum led the team with 23 points while battling foul trouble, Jaylen Brown added 18 points with 10 rebounds while Kemba Walker chipped in with 15 points and four assists. As a team, the Celtics shot 43 percent from the field and 10 of 33 from the 3-point line as they came out flat and found themselves trailing by as many as 16 points, before seeing their late rally come up short. Marcus Smart had himself a night to forget as he scored just three points on zero of five shooting before fouling out.
Head to head, the Nets are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall.
The Nets were severely shorthanded in their last outing, but that didn't stop them from pulling off a major upset against a Bucks team who took the night off. The Celtics will be keen to bounce back after a poor showing last night against the shorthanded Heat and they could not have asked for a better opponent. The Nets are playing with house money so they'll come out firing once again, but I think the Celtics should be more than good enough if they are motivated here.
