The Memphis Grizzlies look for their first bubble victory after an 0-2 record since the NBA restart. The Memphis Grizzlies are averaging 112.9 points on 47 percent shooting and allowing 114 points on 45.1 percent shooting. Ja Morant is averaging 17.7 points and seven assists while Jaren Jackson Jr. is averaging 17.2 points and 4.7 rebounds. Dillon Brooks is the third double-digit scorer and Jonas Valanciunas is grabbing 11.1 rebounds. The Memphis Grizzlies are shooting 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 76.2 percent from the free throw line. The Memphis Grizzlies are allowing 36.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46.5 rebounds per game.
The New Orleans Pelicans also look for their first bubble victory after losing their first two games. The New Orleans Pelicans are averaging 115.8 points on 46.2 percent shooting and allowing 117 points on 46.4 percent shooting. Brandon Ingram is averaging 24.1 points and 4.2 assists while Zion Williamson is averaging 22.3 points and 6.4 rebounds. Jrue Holiday is the third double-digit scorer and JJ Redick is dishing two assists. The New Orleans Pelicans are shooting 37.1 percent from beyond the arc and 72.7 percent from the free throw line. The New Orleans Pelicans are allowing 35.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 47 rebounds per game.
The Grizzlies are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 0 days rest. The Pelicans are 19-7 ATS in their last 26 Monday games. The under is 6-2 in Grizzlies last 8 overall. The under is 4-0 in Pelicans last 4 overall. The Grizzlies are 5-11 ATS in the last 16 meetings in New Orleans and 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings.
The Memphis Grizzlies look like the Sacramento Kings from last season when they were chasing a playoff spot, a young club that's just run out of gas or reality starting to settle in. The New Orleans Pelicans haven't played much better, but they have had an off day between games and that's huge when you consider these guys haven't played back to back games in months. Players are still trying to find their wind in these eight games and it won't be easy playing two straight games. The Pels also need this game if there's any chance they sneak in the playoffs.
Don't love it, but I'll lay the chalk with the Pelicans if forced to play.
