The Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics duke it out at the Wide World of Sports Complex on Friday.
The Boston Celtics had high expectations coming into the season and they’ve mostly lived up to those expectations thanks to their deep roster. Jayson Tatum has continued his rise towards that elite level as he averaged 28.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists to earn his first All-Star appearance. You could say the same for Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward and Marcus Smart, but the Celtics will be hoping to get more out of Kemba Walker who struggled with form and injuries all season.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks started the season on fire and remained the benchmark of the league right till the season stoppage as they won 53 of 65 games to finish with the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team on both ends of the floor in almost every category, Khris Middleton averaged 21.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists while Eric Bledsoe averaged 15.4 points and 5.4 assists. Brook Lopez has averaged 11.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, but he is also averaging 2.4 blocks while doing a great job of spacing the floor in the half court.
Looking at the betting trends, the Celtics are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six road games, 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games as an underdog and 20-9-1 ATS in their last 30 games against a team with a winning record. The Bucks are 6-0 ATS in their last six home games, 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games as a favorite and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 Friday games.
Head to head, the Celtics are 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Milwaukee.
This should be the best game of the night as we have two of the Eastern Conference giants collide in a likely playoff preview. These two squads have already duked it out in two close games this season, so I'm expecting another tight one. The Bucks come into this one as deserved favorites here but I think the Celtics with the points represents better value in this spot.
