The Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic face off on Saturday in an exhibition game from the NBA bubble at the HP Field House in Orlando. This game might be being played in Orlando but the Magic won’t have any home-court advantage in this one.
The Los Angeles Lakers have dreams of winning the championship this year and they have already played one game as they try to get ready to compete for that. In that first game against the Dallas Mavericks, the Lakers lost by four points, and it was Kyle Kuzma who played the most minutes in that game with 22 minutes.
LeBron James played a little over 15 minutes and he finished the game with 12 points and five assists. The leader in that game in terms of points was Quinn Cook and JaVale McGee who led the team with 13 points. The Lakers defense let them down in that game giving up 108 points in the third and fourth quarter.
On the other side of this matchup is the Orlando Magic who played the Los Angeles Clippers in their first game inside the bubble and they struggled. To score putting up only 90 points, which isn’t all that shocking because the Magic’s offense hasn’t been elite the entire season. The big issue during that game was they only scored 16 points during the second quarter and that led to the loss. On offense, the Magic are led by Nikola Vucevic and he put up 18 points during that first preseason game. Michael Carter-Williams was also a solid player in his 18 minutes of play putting up 16 points.
On defense the Magic were decent against the Clippers except in the second quarter when they gave up 32 points. If it wasn't for the second quarter, the Magic probably could have come away with the win.
The Lakers are the better team but it wouldn’t be shocking to see James and Anthony Davis play limited minutes in this game. In this game, the Magic will play a complete four quarters and that will lead to a cover of the spread.
