The Washington Wizards and the Denver Nuggets face off on Wednesday and the NBA is finally back. Although this is just an exhibition game it’s good to finally have the NBA back in motion.
The Washington Wizards hopes to have some success in the NBA bubble, but their team looks a lot different than the one that ended the season before COVID. Bradley Beal and David Bertans both aren’t inside the bubble and that is a big loss for both squads. During the 2019 season, Beal was averaging 30.5 points per game which is a big loss.
Now the leader of this squad looks to be Ish Smith, who is a good player, but it’s a big step back from Beal. The good news for the Wizards is this is now a chance for other young players to step up. Troy Brown Jr. Rui Hachimura, Thomas Bryant and Isaac Bonga are all players who could be leaned on heavily. The rest of this season might be more about getting some of the young guys experience rather than how many games they actually win.
The Denver Nuggets have dreams of winning the NBA Championship this season but they have had some problems so far with the double, although all should be good to go once the season starts again. Nikoka Jokic was late to the bubble and Michael Porter Jr is still on the outside of the bubble.
That has given more time to Bol Bol to play a role, and in this game, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him a big role. In this game Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic are going to have big roles, and to win this game they need to be good.
So far this season the Nuggets have won one of their games against the Wizards by a point, and the other game the Wizards beat the Nuggets by one.
In terms of talent, there is no doubt the Nuggets are the better squad, and they are going to find success in this game. Jokic, Murray, and Bol are all going to be good in this game, and that will lead to the victory and the cover.
