The San Antonio Spurs pay a visit to Little Caesars Arena to battle the Detroit Pistons on Sunday night.
The San Antonio Spurs have been in a world of hurt lately as they've lost 10 of their last 12 games, but they will be looking to build some momentum after taking down the Clippers in a 107-97 home win on Friday. LaMarcus Aldridge led the team with 17 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and four blocks, Derrick White added 17 points while DeMar DeRozan chipped in with 15 points, nine rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Spurs shot 43 percent from the field and 14 of 36 from the 3-point line but it was their defense in the third quarter where they held the Clippers to just 18 points.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been struggling as they've lost eight of their last 10 games and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after falling to the Hornets in a 110-107 home loss on Friday. Derrick Rose led the team with 23 points and four assists, Luke Kennard added 21 points, Blake Griffin scored 17 points while Andre DRummond racked up 15 points with 19 rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Pistons shot 49 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line but in a tight contest, it wasn't enough to get past the hot-shooting Hornets who drained 19 of 38 from the 3-point line thanks to Terry Rozier who sunk six himself.
Looking at the betting trends, the Spurs are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, 6-14 ATS in their last 20 games against a team with a losing record and 5-15 ATS in their last 20 games overall. The Pistons are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games, 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record and 7-21-1 ATS in their last 29 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings, the Spurs are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings overall and the Spurs are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Detroit.
The Spurs have been in terrible form for a while now, but they looked great in their much-needed win over the red-hot Clippers and they will be looking to keep it going with a win over the struggling Pistons. This one should be a close one, but the Spurs are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings overall and they represent decent value as the road underdog here.
