Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks play host to the Miami Heat at the Fiserv Forum on Saturday night.
The Miami Heat will be aiming for a second straight win to start the season after making light work of the rebuilding Grizzlies in a 120-101 home win on Wednesday. Justise Winslow led the team in scoring with 27 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Kendrick Nunn added 24 points, Goran Dragic scored 19 points off the bench while Bam Adebayo chipped in with 14 points and 11 rebounds. As a team, the Heat shot 47 percent from the field and seven of 18 from the 3-point line but they were always in a battle with the young Grizzlies team until the fourth quarter where they outscored them by 37-17. Jimmy Butler did not feature in the season opener for personal reasons and his status for Saturday is currently unclear.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks are also looking for their second win of the season after taking down the Rockets in a hard-fought 117-111 road win on Thursday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led from the front with a triple-double of 30 points with 13 rebounds and 11 assists, Wesley Matthews added 15 points in his debut while Eric Bledsoe and Khris Middleton each scored 11 points. As a team, the Bucks shot 46 percent from the field and 16 of 46 from the 3-point line as they fell behind early and trailed by 16 points at halftime, but they turned it around with their defense in the second half where they held the Rockets to just 45 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 7-2 ATS in their last nine Saturday games, 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win of more than 10 points. The Bucks are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a win, 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings, the under is 19-7-2 in the last 28 meetings and the favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
The Heat will once again be very shorthanded as Jimmy Butler, James Johnson and Dion Waiters are all set to miss this meeting against the Bucks who looked amazing in their comeback win over the Rockets on opening night. The Heat will be confident going into this one after making light work of the Grizzlies but the Bucks will provide much stiffer competition and I think it will be too much for the Heat while they're so undermanned. Give me the Bucks to pull away late for the win and cover here.
