The NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series heads to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday night for the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200. Friday’s race will be the 1st of three races in the round of 8 in the 2021 Truck Series Playoffs. Las Vegas is a 1.5-mile intermediate oval, and tire wear is a medium. Handling around the turns is key to a fast truck at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and the restarts are usually entertaining.
Here are a few drivers to consider for the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200.
John Hunter Nemechek +320- John Hunter will fire off from the pole on Friday night for the Truck Series race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Solid weekend for John and the guys at Kyle Busch Motorsports at Bristol one week ago coming away with a 3rd place finish. John Hunter has 5 wins through 19 races on the Truck Series schedule here in 2021. John Hunter has 7 starts at Las Vegas in the Truck Series, has come away with 3 top 10 finishes including a win in the last Truck Series race run at Vegas in March of this season. Solid favorite here in John.
Sheldon Creed +450– Creed will take the green flag for Friday night’s race from the 9th starting spot. Heading into the round of 8 Creed was able to win 2 of the 3 races in the Round of 10 at Gateway and Darlington. In 2021, Creed has 9 top 10 finishes including 8 top 5 finishes and 3 wins. Creed is one of the favorites to win the 2021 Championship and a win here in Sin City would secure Sheldon straight to the Final at Phoenix, great chance here in Vegas on Friday night.
Zane Smith +800- Smith will roll off from the 4th position for Friday’s Truck Series race at Las Vegas. Zane has 12 top 10 finishes on the 2021 season including 1 top 5 finish that came at the Nashville Superspeedway. Smith has finished inside the top 10 in 8 of the last 10 races on the Truck Series circuit. Smith came away with a 6th place finish at Las Vegas in the Truck Series back in March this season after way back in 32nd. Expect for Smith and team to be fast once again and with better starting track position a good run.
Austin Hill +900- Hill rides into Friday’s Truck race starting from the 10th position. The big crash at Bristol one week ago eliminated Austin from making the Round of 8 of the 2021 Playoffs. Hill has 7 career Truck Series starts at Las Vegas, very successful with 4 top 5 finishes including 2 wins. Although eliminated from Playoff competition, Hill will be going for wins still to finish out the 2021 Truck Series season, consider the value here on Hill.
Stewart Friesen +1400- Friesen will start Friday’s Truck Series event from the 2nd row in the 3rd position after a nice 4th place effort at Bristol last time out. Stewart has reeled off 7 top 10 finishes on the 2021 season including 6 top 5 finishes. Friesen has been very successful at Las Vegas with 9 career Truck Series starts 5 top 10 finishes including 4 top 5 finishes with 4th place effort at Vegas in March of this season. Friesen is a great long shot for the win on Friday night and could secure a spot to make a Championship run at Phoenix on Friday night.
