NASCAR Cup Series will conclude the Round of 16 of the 2021 Playoffs under the lights at the Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday night in the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race. The Bristol Night race is a fan favorite race on the Cup Series schedule and Saturday’s race will consist of 500 laps. Bristol is a concrete .533 high-banked oval and with progressive banking in the turns, makes for great side-to-side action through the night.
Here are a few drivers to consider for the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race.
Kyle Busch +400- Kyle will begin Saturday’s journey around the Bristol Motor Speedway from the 9th starting spot after finishing 9th at Richmond back last Saturday night. Kyle has the best average driver rating at Bristol over the last 6 races of 112.1. 2 wins along with 5 top 5 finishes accompany the overall performance for Kyle at Bristol. Kyle was 3rd fastest in green flag speed in the 2020 Night race, leading 159 of the 500 laps on the way to 2nd place finish. Kyle is not necessarily in a must win situation heading into Saturday night’s Cup race but look out for great performance from the favorite.
Kyle Larson +450- Larson will roll off outside row 3 from the 5th position for Saturday’s race at Bristol after a 6th place finish at Richmond one week ago. Bristol is a top 3 track for Larson, last 4 Cup races started has an average finish of 7.25, average driver rating of 106.1 that is second best and 2 top 5 finishes to go along. Larson’s ability to run the high line at Bristol ultimately give him and edge. Locked into the next round of the 2021 Cup Series Playoffs, Larson is looking for the first Bristol win of his Cup career.
Kevin Harvick +1100- Harvick fires off from the 8th position for Saturday’s race at the Bristol. Kevin has 3 top 10s including 1 top 5 and a victory over the last 6 races held at Bristol. In the 2020 Bristol Night Race, Kevin won the race leading 226 of the 500 laps with the best green flag average speed of the race. While Harvick is 25 points ahead of the cut line, he and Stewart-Haas Racing need a victory in the worst way. Harvick could very well pick up the first win of 2021 on Saturday night.
Tyler Reddick +3000- Reddick will begin Saturday’s Cup Series race from the 13th starting spot. Reddick is 5 points below the cut line to get into the Round of 12 heading into Bristol on Saturday. A win guarantees Reddick a spot in the next round of the playoffs, otherwise he will need a lot of help. Reddick had the 8th best green flag speed at Bristol in the 2020 Night race, coming home with a 4th place finish. Much like Kyle Larson, Reddick comes from a dirt racing background and has the edge of running the high line at Bristol. Big value here on Reddick.
Matt DiBenedetto +5000- Matt rolls off on row 10 from the 19th starting spot for the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night race. Though Matt missed the 2021 Playoffs, winning is still the agenda for him and the Wood Brothers. Hands down, Bristol has been the best track to Matt in his Cup career. With no ride in any of the major NASCAR Series lined up for next season, Matt is primed to go out and win at Bristol. Talladega will most likely be the only other shot Matt will have to win before he departs the Wood Brothers. Sprinkle some action here on this huge price.
