The NASCAR Xfinity Series will take on the Darlington Raceway Saturday afternoon in the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200. Saturday Xfinity Series race will consist of 147 laps to make up the 200-mile advertised distance. Darlington is a 1.366-mile egg-shaped oval, the turn 1 and 2 end of the speedway is bigger than the turn 3 and 4 end of the speedway. Saturday’s race will consist of 3 pit stops at least but any mistakes are very costly with Saturday’s at such a short distance.
Here are a few drivers to consider for the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200.
Denny Hamlin +120- Denny will take the green flag on Saturday afternoon from the 14th position for the Xfinity Series race. Denny will make the 2nd start of the 2021 Xfinity Series in the #54 Gibbs Toyota on Saturday, with the only other start here at Darlington back in May where he started 37th and finished 5th after leading 31 of the 147 laps. Denny has been lights out in Xfinity Series competition at Darlington with 13 career starts 12 top 10 finishes including 10 top 5s and 5 victories. Hamlin should be in the top 4 by the end of stage 1.
Noah Gragson +700- Gragson will fire off from the 8th position on Saturday for the Xfinity Series race at Darlington. Noah has 4 races completed at the Darlington Raceway and has not finished outside of the top 10 in the Xfinity Series at the track. Noah ran away from the field earlier this season at Homestead leading 34 of the 167 laps. A lap down car crashed and took Gragson out in the process with 2 laps to go. Gragson rebounded with a 4th place effort at Atlanta and a 3rd place finish at Atlanta in the July Xfinity race. Noah is great on the high tire wear tracks, expect a great run on Saturday.
Justin Allgaier +700- Justin will take the green flag for Saturday’s Xfinity race at Darlington from the 4th position. Allgaier only needed to lead 10 laps to claim his first Xfinity Series victory at the Darlington Raceway back in May and in 12 career starts has 8 top 10s and 4 top 5s to add. Allgaier has great starting track position for Saturday’s dash to the checkered flag in the Xfinity Series and could sweep the Xfinity season at Darlington.
Daniel Hemric +900- Hemric will lead the field to the green flag from the pole position on Saturday afternoon. Hemric had 2019 in the full-time Cup Series ride and in 2020 finished 6th at Darlington in the first Xfinity race, but crashed lap 2 of the 2020 Playoff race at Darlington finishing 37th. Hemric in the Joe Gibbs Toyota finished 3rd at the Homestead-Miami Speedway and 9th at the first Atlanta Xfinity race this season. Expect Hemric to be in the running for the win on Saturday afternoon.
Brandon Jones +1600- Jones will start the from the 25th position at Darlington on Saturday afternoon. Jones will have to do some work to get to the front and have a few cautions. In 7 starts at Darlington, Brandon has 4 top 10 finishes including a victory in the 2020 September Xfinity race. Jones finished 2nd at Homestead back in February and with patience can climb to the top 5 by the final stage.
Jeff’s Pick Noah Gragson +700
