The NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to the Michigan International Speedway on Saturday afternoon to do battle in the New Holland 250. Michigan is flat, 2-mile oval and 125 laps will make up the 250-mile advertised distance on Saturday afternoon. Michigan provides some crazy restarts due to the wide track surface, and to be successful one must continually search different grooves in the turns for speed.
Here are 5 drivers to consider for the New Holland 250.
Ty Gibbs +320- Gibbs will begin Saturday’s Xfinity Race from the 10th position in his 12th Xfinity race of 2021. Gibbs will be in the #54 car for Joe Gibbs Racing on Saturday and has 3 wins and 8 top 5 finishes on the 2021 Xfinity season. Gibbs comes off a victory on the road course at Watkins Glen 2 weeks ago in the Xfinity Series leading 43 of the 82 total laps. Saturday will mark the 1st start at Michigan for Gibbs in any NASCAR Series and once again expect to see him up front.
Austin Cindric +450- Cindric will fire off from the pole position on Saturday afternoon at the Michigan International Speedway. In 21 starts on the season to date for Cindirc in the Xfinity Series he has come away 14 top 5 finishes and 5 wins including the victory at the INDY road course one week ago. Cindric finished 11th in the 2019 Xfinity race at Michigan after starting from the 5th position. Cindric has failed to finish outside of the top 10 in 7 of the last 8 races on the Xfinity Series, strong play heading into Saturday’s New Holland 250.
Justin Allgaier +650- Allgaier comes into Saturday’s Xfinity race starting from the 5th position after an 11th place finish at the Indy Road Course one week ago. On the 2021 Xfinity Series circuit, Justin has 12 top 10 finishes including 9 top 5 finishes and 2 wins. Allgaier has 9 career Xfinity starts at Michigan and has come away with 5 top 10 finishes including 2 top 5 finishes. Justin is one of the more-experienced drivers in the field at Michigan in the Xfinity Series and has run well as of late here in 2021.
Harrison Burton +800- Burton will take the green flag for Saturday’s Xfinity race from the 6th position. Burton has 14 top 10 finishes on the 2021 Xfinity season including 7 top 5s with no wins yet. Saturday’s New Holland 250 will be the first time Burton has Xfinity Series laps at Michigan. Harrison did get 1 start in the Camping World Truck Series in 2019 at Michigan, finishing 11th after starting 5th. Burton does well to search out the fast groves throughout the race, look for him to be up front on Saturday.
Noah Gragson +1200- Gragson will start from the 4th position on Saturday afternoon at the Michigan International Speedway. Noah comes off a 5th place performance at the INDY road course one week ago and has reeled off top 10 finishes in 7 of the last 8 Xfinity races including 3 top 5 finishes. Gragson has 1 Xfinity start at Michigan that came in 2019, starting 4th and finishing an impressive 2nd place. Gragson is another driver that is talented in regards to continually finding the fast ways around the track and comes in with a nice long shot price.
