The NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI on Saturday afternoon for the running of the Henry 180. Road America is a 4.048-mile road course and Saturday’s event will consist of 45 laps to make up the 180-mile advertised distance. Saturday will mark the 12th time the Xfinity Series has races at Road America and there have been some crazy finishes in past races.
Here are a few drivers to consider for the Henry 180.
Kyle Busch +180- Busch will hop down to the Xfinity Series to make a start for Joe Gibbs race team in the #54 car on Saturday afternoon. Kyle will make the first start at Road America on Saturday in any of the 3 national touring NASCAR Series in the Henry 180 on Saturday afternoon. In 16 Xfinity races on road courses, Kyle has 12 top 10 finishes including 8 top 5s and 3 wins. With practice and qualifying prior to Saturday’s race, Kyle and team will get the car dialed in.
Austin Cindric +250- Cindric comes into Saturday’s Henry 180 atop the Xfinity Series point standings currently. Through 16 races in 2021 in Xfinity competition, Cindric has 12 top 10 finishes 11 of those are top 5 finishes with 4 victories. Cindric won the 2020 Henry 180 at Road America and with practice/qualifying will be near the top. Austin comes off the win at Pocono from last Sunday and the team will ride that momentum into Road America.
A.J. Allmendinger +400- Allgaier is currently 2nd in the Xfinity Series standings with 11 top 10 finishes including 10 top 5 finishes and 2 victories though 16 races in 2021. A.J. has 3 Xfinity starts at Road America with 2 top 10 finishes including a victory. Allmendinger came off a nice win at Mid-Ohio road course in the Xfinity Series one month ago leading 23 of the 78 laps. Allmendinger comes from a road racing background and will give the top drivers a challenge on Saturday afternoon.
Ty Gibbs +650- Ty Gibbs will hop into the #81 machine for Joe Gibbs racing on Saturday afternoon for the Henry 180. Ty has raced in 8 of the 17 Xfinity Series events in 2021 and has finished top 10 seven times and has 2 wins. The first career Xfinity win for Ty Gibbs came on the Daytona Road Course in February and followed up with a 3rd place finish at the Mid-Ohio Road Course in June. Bright future ahead for Ty Gibbs and will prove more on Saturday afternoon.
Kaz Grala +3500- Kaz will be the longshot play for Saturday’s Henry 180 for the Xfinity Series. Kaz has made 3 starts at Road America here in the Xfinity Series and has come away with 2 top 5 finishes. Grala will make the start for Jordan Anderson Racing, Josh Berry finished 8th in this ride at Mid-Ohio in June. Sprinkle some action on Kaz on Saturday afternoon.
Kevin Harvick is +2000 for Saturday’s race coming down from the Cup Series. Kevin has not raced at Road America in his racing career. Harvick will drive the #99 for B.J. McCleod on Saturday afternoon and the concern is can the equipment hold up with this lower funded team. No doubt Harvick can be competitive on Saturday as an opinion I think it’s too risky, so beware of placing action here.
