The NASCAR Xfinity Series will head to do a solo show at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Saturday afternoon in the B&L Transport 170. Mid-Ohio is a 2.258-mile road course and Saturday’s race will consist of 75 laps to make up the 170-mile advertised distance. Saturday’s Xfinity race at Mid-Ohio will mark the 3rd road course event on the 2021 schedule and there are no Cup Series regulars entered into the B&L Transport 170.
Here are a few drivers to consider for the B&L Transport 170.
Austin Cindric +165- Cindric comes into Saturday’s B&L Transport 170 starting on the pole after a solid 2nd place finish at Charlotte one week ago. Cindric has 3 wins on the 2021 Xfinity Series circuit but none have come on a road course. In 15 career Xfinity starts on a road course, Cindric has 11 top 5 finishes including 4 wins. Cindric currently leads the 2021 Xfinity Series point standings by 84 total points over Harrison Burton and now heading to a road course with no Cup Series presence on Saturday, look out for the big favorite.
A.J. Allmendinger +350- A.J. take the green flag for Saturday’s B&L Transport 170 from the 12th position. Allmendinger comes from a road racing background as well as plenty Cup Series experience. With 13 career road course starts in the Xfinity Series, Allemdinger has 10 top 5 finishes including 4 victories. A.J. will need a little patience to make way to the top 5 by keep the car clean though the first stage. Allmendinger will likely be the best challenger to Cindric so keep A.J in mind on Saturday afternoon.
Ty Gibbs +350- Gibbs will fire off alongside Cindric from the 2nd position on Saturday after for the race at Mid-Ohio. 6 starts on the season to date for Ty in the Xfinity Series and has come away 5 top 5 finishes and 2 wins. Gibbs grabbed the first career Xfinity victory in his first career start in the series at the Daytona Road Course back in February. Ty led 20 laps at Charlotte in the last Xfinity race one week ago at Charlotte to once again claim victory in 2021. In one of the elite cars to hit the track, Gibbs will be once again looking for victory lane here at Mid-Ohio.
Justin Allgaier +800- Allgaier will start from the 5th position on Saturday afternoon for the B&L Transport 170. Justin finished a disappointing 26th at the Daytona Road Course in that Xfinity Series event in February but followed up with a solid 3rd place finish at COTA 2 weeks ago. In 34 career Xfinity Series starts on road courses, Allgaier has 22 top 10 finishes including 10 top 5 finishes and 3 wins. Allgaier has 5 starts at Mid-Ohio with 2 top 5 finishes including a win. Decent value here with Allgaier consider him for the win.
Daniel Hemric +1400- Hemric will come from 6 in the 11th starting spot on Saturday afternoon for the Xfinity Series race at Mid-Ohio. Hemric has 2 career starts at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Not only has Hemric been successful in the Xfinity Series at Mid-Ohio, also in 12 career Xfinity road course starts he has 5 top finishes. Hemric comes in with the best value on the board for Saturday’s Xfinity race and could challenge for the win here at Mid-Ohio.
