The NASCAR Xfinity Series rolls on Saturday afternoon to take on the “Monster Mile” at Dover International Speedway in the Drydene 200. Dover is a 1-mile oval that is steeply banked in the turns. Dover compares best to Bristol but being twice the size of Bristol makes the track lightning fast. Dover is wide in the turns but narrow down the straightaways and there have been big pileups on restarts in past races.
Here are a few drivers to consider for the Drydene 200.
Justin Allgaier +350- Allgaier will take green flag on Saturday afternoon from the 2nd position for the Drydene 200. Allgaier picked up a win and a 7th place finish respectively at Dover in the Xfinity Series in 2020. Allgaier is one of the most experienced in the Xfinity Series at Dover. Allgaier ran great at Bristol in the 2020 Xfinity Series finishing 5th in the playoff race. Great starting spot Saturday, great reason Justin is the favorite heading into Saturday’s Drydene 200.
Ty Gibbs +600- Gibbs will take the green flag for Saturday’s Drydene 200 from the 14th position. Running a part-time schedule in the 2021 Xfinity Series for Grandfather Coach Joe, Ty has 3 top 5 finishes in 4 races on the Xfinity Series season to date including a win on the Daytona Road Course of all places. Ty is seeing most of the Xfinity Series tracks for the first time in his career in 2021 but not Dover. Ty did make an ARCA Series East start at Dover in 2020 coming out with a 12th place finish. In one of the best cars on the track, look for Gibbs to have a good day.
Noah Gragson +750- Gragson will fire off from the 3rd position on Saturday for the Xfinity Series race at Dover. Noah has 5 races completed at the Monster Mile and has finished outside of the top 10 in the Xfinity Series at the track only 1 time. Gragson is coming into form after a rocky start to the 2021 Xfinity Series season, reeling off 4 top 10 finishes in a row. Gragson excels on the steep tracks like Dover and Bristol, look for Gragson to be knocking on the door to victory lane on Saturday afternoon.
Daniel Hemric +900- Hemric will lead the field to the green flag on Saturday afternoon from the pole position in the Drydene 200. Daniel started 9th and finished 5th for JR. Motorsports in the Xfinity Series at Dover in 2020. With the move to Gibbs and a full-time ride for 2021, Hemric has 7 top 10 finishes, including 5 top 5 finishes. Solid 3rd place effort at Homestead-Miami and a 5th place finish at Darlington last Saturday in the Xfinity Series race makes Hemric a nice value option to pick up the first win of the 2021 season.
Josh Berry +2200- Berry will be the longshot play of the week for Saturday’s Xfinity Series race for JR. Motorsports. Berry will fire off from the 6th position at Dover on Saturday afternoon. Josh picked up a career first win at Martinsville in the Xfinity Series and topped that off with a 2nd place finish at Darlington last Saturday. Berry to make that first Xfinity Series start at Dover on Saturday, expect good things to happen at the longshot price.
