The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will head to the Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon for the FR8 Auctions 200. Atlanta is a 1.5- mile intermediate oval, and tire wear is extremely high. Atlanta Motor Speedway was last repaved in 1997, so the current surface is old and abrasive on the tires. Typically, the experienced drivers who have patience in managing the equipment rise to the top at Atlanta.
Here are a few drivers to consider for the FR8 Auctions 200.
Kyle Busch -125– Kyle will roll off from the 2nd starting spot for Saturday Afternoon’s Truck Series race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, after a solid 2nd place run 2 weeks ago in the truck at Las Vegas. Kyle led 92 of the 130 total laps in the 2019 Truck Series race at Atlanta on the way to capturing a win after starting in 7th. Busch has proven in the past the dominance in the NASCAR Truck Series and we should expect him to lead quite a bit of laps here on Saturday afternoon.
John Hunter Nemechek +600- John Hunter will fire off from the pole position on Saturday afternoon for the FR8 Auctions 200 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. John held off the charges from the boss Kyle Busch at Las Vegas 2 weeks ago leading 94 of the 134 laps on the way to winning. John picked up a Truck Series victory at Atlanta in 2016, now in arguably the best NASCAR equipment he’s ever had the privilege to drive and will once again give Kyle Busch a run for the money on Saturday afternoon.
Sheldon Creed +900- Creed will most likely be the challenger to the Kyle Busch Motorsports Trucks on Saturday afternoon and will start from the 8th position. Creed had a rough go at Las Vegas 2 weeks ago finishing 18th. In 2 races at Atlanta in the Truck Series, Creed has failed to finish top 10. Winning the 2020 Truck Series Championship, the team and Creed will come into Atlanta with a competitive truck for Saturday afternoon. Take a shot on Creed to be up front in the final stage of the FR8 Auctions 200
Austin Hill +1100- Hill will take the green flag for Saturday’s FR* Auctions 200 from the 6th starting spot. Atlanta is a hometown track for Austin and Saturday is a great opportunity to have a great showing for friends and family. Since teaming up with Shigeaki Hattori in 2019, Hill has a 7th place finish at Atlanta in 2019 and a 2nd place finish from 2020 at Atlanta. With 2 victories to complement in 2020 at 1.5-mile tracks, I do expect Austin to be in the hunt for a victory at Atlanta on Saturday afternoon.
Grant Enfinger +1600- Enfinger claimed victory in the 2020 Truck Series race at Atlanta and will begin Saturday’s race from the 19th starting spot. Grant is back in the #98 Mike Curb Truck for Atlanta on Saturday after finishing 7th in Codie Rohrbaugh’s truck at Las Vegas 2 weeks ago. Grant is one of the more experienced drivers in the Truck Series and has finished in the top 10 in all 5 starts at Atlanta including 3 top finishes. Grant should make it to the top 5 by the start of the final stage, consider the big price on Grant on Saturday.
