The NASCAR Xfinity Series will roll into the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday for the Alsco 300. Las Vegas is a 1.5-mile cookie-cutter oval and has steeply banked turns. We should expect great side by side racing on Saturday in the Alsco 300, especially on the restarts. With a few more 1.5-miles tracks to visit on the season, having a good finish in the first race at Las Vegas is paramount for the upcoming races.
Here are a few drivers to consider for the Alsco Uniforms 300.
Austin Cindric +190 – Cindric will start outside row 1 in the 2nd spot for Saturday afternoon’s Alsco Uniforms 300 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Cindric leads the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series standings coming off a 6th place effort 1 week ago at Homestead after leading 63 of the 200 total laps with the best driver rating. Austin finished 2nd in the 2020 Alsco Uniforms 300 and 6th in the 2020 Xfinity Playoff race at Vegas. More than likely, Cindric will once again be the class of the field hard to pass him up at Vegas on Saturday.
Noah Gragson +550- Gragson will have to do some work on Saturday from a 34th starting spot for the Alsco Uniforms 300. Noah off to a tough start in 2021 with a crash in the first race of the season at Daytona, and last week at the Daytona Road Course couldn’t get the car started before going laps down at the start of the event. Noah was cruising to a victory at Homestead 1 week ago until the lap car of David Starr blew a right front tire, slamming into Gragson. Vegas is Gragson’s hometown and Xfinity starts has 4 top 10s and 3 top 5 finishes. I expect Gragson slice through the field early and be in position at the end of Saturday’s Alsco Uniforms 300.
Ty Dillon +1400- Ty Dillon back in the #54 at Las Vegas on Saturday and will begin competition from the 20th position. Gibbs won the Daytona RC event in the #54 car and Ty brought it home 37th after a radiator problem. Ty no longer in a Cup Series ride brings a ton of experience and talent to the Gibbs team and no better way to rebound than at Las Vegas on Saturday. Top equipment for Dillon in the Xfinity Series, definitely worth taking a shot on Ty Saturday.
Daniel Hemric + 1400- Hemric will start from the 3rd starting position for the Alsco Uniforms 300 on Saturday afternoon. On paper, Hemric has not faired well at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a 35th place finish in the first race at Vegas 2020 due to a suspension issue but did make progress finishing 3rd in the 2020 Playoff Xfinity Race at Vegas in 2020. Hemric made the move to Joe Gibbs Racing in the Xfinity Series for 2021 to run for the Championship, finishing 9th at the first race in Daytona and 3rd last Saturday at Homestead. Hemric off to an impressive start in 2021 and the move to Gibbs has been just what Hemric needed.
Brandon Jones +1600- Jones will roll off from the 4th position on Saturday for the Xfinity Series race at Las Vegas. Jones heads into Saturday’s Xfinity Series race with 4 top 10 finishes including 1 top 5 finish over the last 6 races at Las Vegas. Brandon won the 2020 Xfinity race at the Kansas Speedway that compares close to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Great track position to get the Alsco Uniforms 300 started for Brandon and I expect him to maintain top 10 through the race.
