The NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series heads to the Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon for race 2 of 3 in the round of 8 in the 2020 playoffs in the SpeedyCash.com 400. Texas is 1.5 mile oval that compares to the Charlotte Motor Speedway oval. 34 points separates 2nd place in the standings to 6th place. Let’s see who the next competitor will be to secure a spot in the championship 4.

Here are a few drivers to consider for the SpeedyCash.com 400.

Sheldon Creed +500– Creed will start the SpeedyCash.com 400 from the pole position. Sheldon currently sits on top of the point standings for the Truck Series. Sheldon finished 5th at Charlotte back in May after we resumed from the COVID break and finished 16th at Texas back in July. Creed’s speed at 1.5 mile tracks was inconsistent to say the least on the front half of the season but has turned it around as of recent. Creed has a couple of 2nd place finishes between Las Vegas and Kansas as of recent. I look for Sheldon to be competitive Sunday and with Martinsville next weekend, Creed needs a win to secure a spot in the final round of the playoffs at Phoenix.

Zane Smith +600- Zane will roll off from the 6th position on Sunday afternoon at Texas. Smith comes into the SpeedyCash.com 400 3rd in the point standings currently. Zane finished a disappointing 11th at Kansas 1 week ago after leading 37 laps. Zane came away with the 3rd best driver rating from Kansas so he had a fast truck. When Zane puts together the entire race look out because he will probably end up in victory lane. Take a shot on Zane at Texas on Sunday afternoon he will have a competitive truck.

Grant Enfinger +1200- Enfinger will take the green flag in Sunday’s SpeedyCash.com 400 from the 4th starting spot. Grant is currently 7 points below the cut line in the 2020 Truck Series playoffs. Grant started 2nd and finished 8th in July’s truck race here at Texas earlier this season. Enfinger did pick up a victory at the Atlanta Motor Speedway back in June of 2020 and had 3 top 5s at Kansas Speedway on the season. Grant desperately needs a win here at Texas to lock in a spot to the final round of the playoffs at Phoenix. Look for the Grant and the 98 team to be in the mix here at Texas on Sunday afternoon.

Ben Rhodes +1600- Rhodes is my long shot play for the Truck Series race on Sunday afternoon at Texas. Ben will fire off from the 4th row in the 8th position for the SpeedyCash.com 400. Rhodes currently sits 7th in the Truck Series standings, 33 points below the current cut line. Rhodes finished 9th at Texas back in July of this season, but he had top 5 speed through the entire race. Rhodes has top 10 finishes at Texas, Atlanta, and Charlotte on the 2020 season and he has to win to get in for Phoenix based on the current standings. Sprinkle in a little action on Rhodes Sunday.
