The NASCAR Xfinity Series will race the 2nd of 3 races in the round of 8 at the Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday evening in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300. Texas is a 1.5 mile oval, 200 laps will make up the advertised 300 mile distance on Saturday afternoon. Texas is a close comparison to the Charlotte Motor Speedway oval. From 2nd-8th in the standings is a very tight battle, and we should see some close competition on Saturday afternoon.
Here are a few drivers to consider for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300.
Chase Briscoe +220- Chase will begin the Xfinity race on Saturday from the pole position. Chase took over the top spot in the 2020 Xfinity standings, dominating at Kansas last week leading 159 of 200 laps and capturing the win. Chase is locked into the final round of the playoffs at Phoenix in 2 weeks and for Texas it’s all about winning the race. With 9 victories on the 2020 season and moving to the Cup Series next season, Briscoe wants to end on top of the Xfinity Series. Give Chase a look on Saturday.
Justin Allgaier +750- Justin will roll off from the 5th starting spot on Saturday. Currently, Justin sits 2nd in the 2020 standings and comes into the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 only 11 points above the cutline. During the July race at Texas, Allgaier led 98 of the 200 laps bringing home a solid 3rd place finish. Justin also had a 5th place finish on the Charlotte oval back in May of this year after the break. Allgaier is set up well to make the final round of the playoffs at Phoenix in 2 weeks, and he can lock it in here at Texas. I really like Justin to win on Saturday.
Harrison Burton +850- Burton will fire off from the 12th position on Saturday afternoon at the Texas Motor Speedway for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300. Burton just missed making the round of 8 and although not in the playoff battle is looking to finish 2020 on a good note. Burton finished 9th at the May race at Charlotte Motor Speedway and followed that up with a solid 4th place run at Texas back in July. Harrison had the 6th best quality pass percentage at Kansas last week of 83.7, which is some indication of how fast the car is. Burton has nothing to lose and we could see him in victory lane on Saturday afternoon.
Brandon Jones +1400- Jones will roll off from the 3rd position on Saturday afternoon at the Texas Motor Speedway. Brandon is 3rd in the 2020 standings and needs a solid run on Saturday afternoon to inch closer to the top 4 range. Jones finished 7th at Texas in the July race earlier in the season and followed that top finish up with a victory at the Kansas Speedway one week later. Jones is the only Gibbs Toyota in the 2020 Xfinity Playoffs and a solid run at Texas is a must. Great value here with Brandon on Saturday afternoon, consider sprinkling a little action in.
