The NASCAR Cup Series will begin the round of 8 at Kansas Speedway on Sunday afternoon in the Hollywood Casino 400. Kansas is a 1.5 mile cookie cutter oval, closely relating to Las Vegas, Chicagoland, and Kentucky Speedway. Sunday’s race will consist of 267 laps to make up the 400 miles distance on Kansas. In the round of 8 the battle from 3rd to the 8th place driver is very close heading into Kansas. Expect to see a hard-fought race on Sunday afternoon in the Hollywood Casino 400.
Here are a few matchups to consider for the Hollywood Casino 400.
Ryan Blaney -134 vs. Kyle Busch +100
Over the last 5 races at the Kansas Speedway, Kyle Busch has won all 5 match ups against Ryan Blaney. Both Kyle and Ryan didn’t make the round of 8 and are just out for wins now. Both Busch and Blaney have teammates still racing for the 2020 championship and are helping those get to the final round in Phoenix. Kyle and Ryan struggled as of late and Blaney is heading to Kansas that is not his best track. Take Kyle Busch to finish ahead of Blaney on Sunday.
Jeff’s Pick: Kyle Busch +100
Brad Keselowski -115 vs. Chase Elliott -115
Chase has finished ahead of Brad 4 of the last 7 races at the Kansas Speedway. Both Keselowski and Elliott are top 5 in average finish in the last 7 races run at Kansas. Chase had 3 top 5 finishes including a win over the last 4 but finished 12th back in July of 2020. Brad finished 2nd here at Kansas in the July race this year. Sunday’s matchup between Chase and Brad is very even in my opinion, so I am going to lean to Keselowski.
Jeff’s Pick: Brad Keselowski -115
Denny Hamlin -115 vs. Martin Truex Jr. -115
Truex has won the matchup against Hamlin at Kansas 4 times over the last 7 races at Kansas. Of the 7 however, Denny’s 3 wins against Truex have come in the last 3 races at Kansas. Truex did very poorly after switching to JGR last season in the first Kansas race. Since the switch, Truex has improved every race at Kansas a track where he wants to get back to dominating ways. Take Truex over Hamlin on Sunday.
Jeff’s Pick: Martin Truex Jr. -115
