The NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series heads to the Kansas Speedway on Saturday afternoon to begin the round of 8 in the 2020 playoffs in the Clean Harbors 200. Kansas is 1.5 mile oval that compares to Las Vegas and Kentucky Speedway. The drivers of the big bad trucks can almost hold the throttle open all the way around the Kansas Speedway, momentum is a huge factor.
Here are a few drivers to consider for the Clean Harbors 200.
Austin Hill +300– Hill will start the Clean Harbors 200 from the 8th position. Austin currently sits in a tie with Sheldon Creed on top of the point standings for the Truck Series. Hill’s first win of 2020 came here at the Kansas Speedway back in part 1 of the double header weekend in July. Austin led 65 of the 134 laps and had the best driver rating of 145.4 in the 1st Kansas race in 2020. Austin also won the Las Vegas race 3 weeks ago, starting 11th and leading 39 laps. Hill and team are starting to peak at the best time, look for Hill to be tough to beat on Kansas on Saturday afternoon.
Sheldon Creed +470- Creed will roll off from the 4th position on Saturday afternoon at Kansas. Sheldon comes into the Clean Harbors 200 tied with Austin Hill in the point standings currently. Creed finished 8th in the first race at Kansas back in July and one day later finished a disappointing 26th after some issues. Sheldon did pick up the first victory on the 2020 season at Kentucky in July and finished 2nd at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway 2 weeks ago. Creed and team have some inconsistent tendencies in finishing races in the top 5 but we should see a good showing from Creed on Saturday afternoon.
Zane Smith +850- Smith will take the green flag in Saturday’s Clean Harbors 200 from the 9th starting spot. Smith has a bright future ahead and as of now sits 3rd in the Truck Series standings. Smith claimed 2 top 10 finishes at Kansas back in July and finished 7th at Las Vegas 3 weeks ago. On the season, Zane has 4 top 5 finishes including 2 victories 1 at Michigan and 1 at Dover. Kansas provides a great opportunity for Zane to pick up a victory, consider Smith on Saturday afternoon.
Grant Enfinger +1400- Enfinger is my long shot play for the Truck Series race on Saturday afternoon at Kansas. Grant will fire off from the 3rd row in the 6th position for the Clean Harbors 200. Grant currently sits 4th in the Truck Series standings, only 9 points out of the lead. Enfinger has been on a tear as of late with top 10 finishes in 5 of the last 6 races including a win at Richmond. Grant has tremendous value heading into Saturday afternoon’s race, so carefully consider him.
