The NASCAR Xfinity Series will roll into the Talladega Super Speedway on Saturday for the Ag-Pro 300. Talladaga is a 2.66 mile super-speedway, and Saturday’s Ag-Pro 300 will be 113 laps making up the 300 advertised distance. The Ag-Pro 300 will be the 2nd of 3 races in the round of 12 for 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs. I expect a lot of moving within the point standings at the completion of the Ag-Pro 300.
Here are a few drivers to consider for the Ag-Pro 300.
Ross Chastain +450- Chastain comes into the Ag-Pro 300 as the heavy favorite. Ross will roll off from the 13th starting spot at Talladega on Saturday afternoon and I expect him to make it to the front fast. Chastain pushed teammate Justin Haley to a victory at Talladega back in June of 2020, and all 3 Kaulig Racing Team cars will be competitive on Saturday. Ross won the July 2019 race in Daytona, so I expect him to be in contention.
Austin Cindric +900- Cindric will begin the Ag-Pro 300 from the 2nd row in the 3rd position. Cindric is 2nd in the point standings currently, 17 points behind Chase Briscoe. Austin crashed earlier in the 2020 season at Daytona finishing 25th, but had a solid 4th place finish in June at Talladega and an 8th place finish back at Daytona in August. Coming from the Penske stable, Cindric has one of the best cars on the track for Talladega, look out for Cindric by the end of the Ag-Pro 300.
Noah Gragson +1000- Noah will fire off from the 2nd starting spot on Saturday afternoon at the Talladega Super Speedway. Noah comes into Saturday’s Ag-Pro 300 sitting 3rd in the 2020 standings. Gragson won the first Daytona race in 2020 back in February, notching his first career victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Gragson followed the victory at Daytona with a 10th place finish at Talladega back in June. Noah along with the JR Motorsports teammates will no doubt hook up and get to the front on Saturday, really like Gragson’s chances on Saturday.
Daniel Hemric +2000- Hemric will roll off from the 5th spot on Saturday afternoon for the Xfinity race. Hemric is racing the 8 car part time for JR Motorsports in 2020 and has an opportunity here at Talladega to pick up a win. Hemric raced full time in the Cup Series in 2019, so he is no stranger to Talladega. Hemric’s teammate Jeb Burton finished 3rd in this car at Talladega back in June and see no reason Hemric can’t compete for the win. Take part of a unit on Hemric on Saturday afternoon.
