Saturday afternoon the NASCAR Xfinity Series will do battle at Road America in Wisconsin for the Henry 180. Road America is a 4 mile road course, and requires a technical skill out of the drivers participating. Saturday afternoon’s race will be only 45 laps around the 4 mile road course to complete the 180 mile distance. Saturday’s Xfinity race will be a stand-alone event, so the track will be green from the drop of the flag.
Here are a 5 drivers to consider for the Henry 180.
Austin Cindric +125- Cindric will begin the Henry 180 on the front row from the 2nd position. Austin has been flawless on road courses in the Xfinity Series in his career, and hasn’t finished a road course race outside the top 5 since 2018. Austin finished 2nd here at Road America back in 2019. Cindric finished 5th back in July at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway GP circuit.
A.J. Allmendinger +325- A.J. will have some work to do to get to the front on Saturday in the Henry 180. A.J. will start from the 33rd position, but this doesn’t worry me the least. A.J. started the Indy road course race back in July of 2020 from the 30th starting position. A.J. went on to finish 4th at the race at INDY. A.J has been one of the best road course racers in modern day across the three national NASCAR Series. A.J. struggled at Road America last year finishing 24th, but rebounded nicely at the next road course event winning the Charlotte Roval race. A.J. is always in play at a road course and I will consider him.
Chase Briscoe +550- Chase won the first road course race at Indy back on July 4th, 2020. Chase has been a threat to win at every style of racetrack the Xfinity Series has visited in 2020, no doubt having one of the fastest cars. In 2019, Briscoe did not finish outside of the top 10, but he also didn’t have any top 5 finishes. I am highly surprised Chase Briscoe is not the outright favorite heading into the Henry 180 on Saturday afternoon, and that only means we have value on this pick.
Noah Gragson +1000- Gragson finished 3rd at INDY back in July of 2020 in that exciting finish. Noah finished 4th at Road America in 2019, and he also added to more top 5s at the road courses in the Xfinity Series. Noah will begin Saturday’s Henry 180 at Road America from the 9th position, and I feel as if he should make his way to the top 5 by the end of the first stage. I will sprinkle in some action on Gragson on Saturday.
Ross Chastain +3300- Chastain will begin the Henry 180 at Road America from the the 11th position. Ross will have a little work to do on Saturday, and possibly might have to utilize some pit strategy to gain track position. Chastain finished 6th earlier this season at INDY GP, and on the season has 15 top 10 finishes in 17 starts. Chastain is seeing the biggest price of the year, so I think it’s worth a sprinkle for him to win on Saturday afternoon.
