The Nascar Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series will head to Michigan International Speedway on Friday evening for the Henry Ford Health System 200. Friday evening’s race will consist of 10 laps that will make up the 200 mile distance. Michigan is a 2 mile D- shaped oval, and is very wide creating plenty of 3 and 4 wide racing. I expect only 1 pit stop for most teams will be needed in Friday’s race at Michigan.

Here are a 5 drivers to consider for the Henry Ford Health System 200.

Austin Hill +300- Hill won the Kansas 200 2 weeks ago, and he is currently a top the Truck Series point standings. Hill has 2 career starts at Michigan, finishing 19th in 2018, but coming back and winning the 2019 Michigan race. On the 2020 season, Austin has 9 top 10 finishes in the 10 races that have been completed. No doubt he is in one of the best trucks on the circuit, and I would consider putting a good deal of action on this pick.

Christian Eckes +450- Eckes has 1 career start at Michigan, and that came in 2019 started 2nd and finished 15th in the Kyle Busch Motorsports # 51 truck. 2020 has been an up and down year for Eckes so far. Christian has 3 top 5 finishes on the year, but has yet to find victory lane. Over the last 4 races in 2020, Eckes seems to have found some speed has he has two 2nd place finishes. Christian is arguably in a top 3 truck, and I expect him to be in contention for the win at Michigan on Friday.

Brett Moffitt +650- Over the last 4 Truck Series races at Michigan, Moffitt has 3 top 5 finishes including 2 wins. At Michigan in 2019, Brett finished 4th, but had the 2nd best driver rating of 113. No doubt Moffitt knows very well how to get around Michigan International Speedway. Brett has 5 top 10 finishes on the year, including 3 top 5s. Moffitt was involved in a crash at the last race in Kansas, so I expect him to rebound solid at Michigan on Friday afternoon.

Zane Smith +1200- Zane currently sits 4th in the point standings on the 2020 season. Smith has 6 top 10s including 2 top 5 finishes on the 2020 season, but has yet to find victory lane. Zane led 50 laps in the most previous race at Kansas Speedway, but finished 9th after some late race strategy cost the team track position. Friday evening will mark Zane’s first start in a truck at Michigan, but I feel he can be competitive. Zane finished 11th in an ARCA car Michigan in 2018, so he is no stranger to MIS.

Ben Rhodes +1500- Rhodes quietly sits 2nd in the points standings, 43 behind Austin Hill. Rhodes had 8 top 10 finishes in 2020, including 4 top 5s. Ben has yet to find victory lane in 2020, and that could change at Michigan on Friday. Rhodes has 2 top 10 finishes over the last 4 truck races run at Michigan. Rhodes led 15 laps and had a driver rating of 111.4 in the 2019 race at Michigan. Unfortunately, a late race problem occurred for Rhodes and team and finished 23rd. I think we see a bounce back from Rhodes at Michigan, and that team sure does need a win.
